I'm looking for a couple of suggestions of simple, non-summery mixed drinks to try. I love gin and tonics. I'm not a fan of wine or whiskey/bourbon, but I'm willing to try again. In the winter, I usually drink beer, recently IPAs (now that I live in the Pacific Northwest), but I used to prefer brown ales, stouts, and porters. What shall I try when my husband and I go out to a proper bar for drinks tonight?

Before noon booze. Tomato juice gives me heartburn and I don't really want to open a bottle of champagne for two drinks. So, what are the alternative brunch cocktails.
NO VODKA DRINKS. Preference for drinks which are not simply an ounce of alcohol added to a glass of juice/cup of hot coffee or chocolate.

Cocktail suggestions? If you are normally a manhattan/old fashioned drinker in the winter (and a gin and tonic/gimlet drinker in the summer), and you needed to pick a specialty cocktail to be served in your honor at an autumn cocktail hour, but it
could not be a manhattan or old fashioned, what would you pick?

I'm having a tacotastic dinner party for my boyfriend's birthday. What's a tasty cocktail/punch recipe that goes with the fresh, rich, spicy flavors of Mexican food? Simplicity is a plus; I don't mind making flavored simple syrup or finding juices or fresh ingredients but I'd like to avoid buying 6 bottles of liquor for one drink.

My 21st birthday is coming up in a few months. I would like to celebrate this with one well-crafted cocktail at a bar, but I am at a loss as to which one and where to get it. I will be spending my 21st birthday in DC while visiting my folks.

LA Gourmet Cocktails?
What are the finest, most crafted cocktails you've had in LA? High-end genius drinkology? Even just the best-balanced martini? Is there a molecular gastronomy equivalent here?

I'm the recipient of a bottle of sloe gin. While I love plain old G & T's, what else can I do with this interesting purple stuff?
