I want to network and talk to people from all video game walks of life, from indie developers to touring game studios. What places should I visit? What studios does tours? Going to Gulf Shores, Alabama, the week after Labor Day weekend. We'll have a car. The beach is fun, but we are both fair-skinned sun wimps and will need interesting hikes/historical things to amuse us when it's time for shade. What should we see and do? What should we skip? We are in our 30's, amenable to visiting and enjoying a few signature Redneck Riviera highlights but mostly want to spend time together and get reacquainted.

My wife is driving with a friend and out 11-yr old god-daughter from our home in Sacramento down to San Diego, leaving Sunday evening. They expect to be near San Luis Obispo when it's time to pull over and go to sleep. Can anyone suggest a good, interesting, fun or otherwise worthy hotel/motel/inn/b&b in the area?
