Does anyone have any thoughts on the best way (and the best script?) to implement a commenting system for normal web pages? I am currently torn between setting up WordPress as a CMS which would provide that functionality or trying to find a script I can add to a page (and there are to be 40 or so separate pages each needing separate comment fields).

My sister just graduated from Parsons with a BFA in Fashion Design. I said I would help her with a website, which would basically be an art/photo gallery with a few different sections. Are there any content management systems that would work well for this type of application? Free is good, but I wouldn't mind spending a little money for something really good. She sent a couple links to designers' homepages that she liked [
1 2 3 4 5].
Whatever it is will need to be PHP/MySQL (or flash) based.

I really like CMS systems such as Joomla and DotNetNuke that allow me to host information I want to access remotely (blog posts, news, serial numbers, etc...). However, since I have my PDA with me all the time and not my notebook, I would really like to use a CMS that I can access via my PDA. My screen size is 320x240 pixels. Most of the CMS systems I have ever seen don't translate well to a PDA screen. Are there any out there that do? I am looking for a system that I can host on my own servers. Thanks!

I run a personal
MediaWiki that I organize a lot of academic, business, and project related notes in. I also keep a journal, and all entries are in one category. The entries take the (automatic) form of "June 4 2007". So far so good, except when I look at the journal category page, I get an alphabetized listing, which is essentially useless. Finding a particular date isn't hard, but I'd like to see them all (or, you know, paginated to 60 or so) listed in reverse chronological order. How can I do this?

I need to help 10 small nonprofit organizations set up websites. The main criteria is that these groups have to be able to maintain the sites themselves, without needing to learn HTML. Custom-CMS'es are too expensive. Does anyone have experience with good hosts that offer basic CMS-type interfaces? What's the best client-side site builder? I still use notepad for my web work(!), so am kind of in the dark as to what's available.

Continuing the not-for-profit theme, my small company (full time staff of 5) is looking for an email management system on the cheap and easy.
We are looking for the following: management of multiple member lists for email blasts and newsletters, web-based sign-up, subscribe/unsubscribe services, and so forth. We'd like to be able to design a template in html and implement new text rather painlessly. RSVP lists for events (ala evite, I suppose) are an added bonus.
