CMSFilter: I need a CMS that supports multiple authors *per-post* because many of the authors collaborate. A search on any one author should bring up anything they've been a part of, as well as their own stuff. [more inside]

Does anyone have any thoughts on the best way (and the best script?) to implement a commenting system for normal web pages? I am currently torn between setting up WordPress as a CMS which would provide that functionality or trying to find a script I can add to a page (and there are to be 40 or so separate pages each needing separate comment fields). I need a recommendation on what CMS / Blogging system to use for my video podcast. My big restriction: The main homepage of my site is flat HTML -- I want it to stay that way, but include a very abbreviated version of the blog (i.e., "links to the last five posts only") on it, via an iframe or something similar. What's the best system to use to do this? [more inside]

I have WordPress installed on a site just to post (what they call) "pages," i.e. not blog entries but just editable content chunks. But neither of the external editors I've tried (MarsEdit & ecto, both on OSX 10.4) support "pages" through WordPress's XML-RPC interface, just normal "posts." Is there any external editor that can support remote editing of pages in WordPress?
