I'm curious what the most frequently purchased colors are for regular, non-jean pants for men. I was discussing this with a colleague today, and guessed black and navy. I'm looking specifically for industry numbers or anecdotal evidence from those working in clothing manufacturing or sales. (I already guessed!) Thanks in advance.

The era of skinny women's jeans has been here for a while, but I've still got a closet full of my perfectly good boot-cut and flared jeans. Can I wear these judiciously (even among young people) without looking embarrassingly out-of-touch? If not, should I try to alter them, or is there a chance they'll come back into style in a year or two anyway?

What-to-wear-with-it-Filter: Navy blue trousers. I (mid-20s male with an obvious tendency towards beanplating) just decided to shift work wardrobe into a higher gear (business casual!), and bought two fantastic pairs of washed cotton chinos. One pair is navy blue. Never worn navy blue before. Help me pair it with my existing wardrobe without looking like an off-duty sailor or Connecticotian on vacation
(sorry, Connecticotians).

I have no idea who made my favorite workout pants or where I bought them. Can you help me find another pair like them? They have an elastic waist AND
ankles like most men's sweatpants. BUT, they're made from
a much lighter cotton material that's not fleecy. They're also loose fitting but not too much.

LaundryFilter: I recently bought some stretch cotton pants. According to the label, stretch cotton is defined as c. 97-98% cotton, with the remainder being spandex. Unfortunately, that very same label informs me that I'm supposed to line dry these pants, which is enormously inconvenient for me. Could I get away with putting these through a few minutes in a regular dryer on the low dry/delicates setting or would that destroy the pants?

I love my partner to death, and that includes his big, soft, warm body. But he has absolutely no butt or hips to hold up his pants, and no matter what he does he shows ass cleavage. He is, shall we say, lookin' like a fool. How does he fix this problem fashion-wise, and how do I manage my reactions to this so I don't insult the man that I love?

Clothesfilter: I'm looking for low-rise chinos/khakis for men. Banana/J Crew/etc fail me. Any ideas? I wear Levi's 527s in jeans, which fit perfectly. Bonus points: I've been thinking of trying Land's End's custom option, but I'm suspicious - does anyone have experience with that?

Well never thought I'd ask metafilter about this, but does anyone else have trouble finding pant sizes that fit? I'm a 30 waist which apparently is so skinny no stores carry it. Actually I can find stores that carry 30 inches but they don't fit, and when I measure they're always 1-2 inches larger. Which is a lot. It's as if stores have forgo a standard measurement sizes in favor of letting people fit into "smaller" sizes. My question is what to do?

I'm looking for a pair of jeans I saw someone wearing on the street today. I think I saw the same pair on Gwyneth Paltrow in People recently. They're women's jeans, low-rise, dark-ish, expensive looking, (hot!). They have a horizontal seam across the knee and snaps the size of nickels down the outside of the pant leg from knee to ankle. I've called several department stores and looked online, but I just can't seem to find them again. Help?
