Looking for clothing lines/companies geared towards women ages 18-35 that cater to non-average sizes (including petite, tall, plus size, etc.) Particularly interested in smaller companies. Bonus points for stuff like sustainability, fair labor practices, natural fibers.

Businesses that make basic apparel (underwear, t-shirts, socks, etc) of the highest quality and where you largely pay for the quality and not the marketing/branding - can you name a few?

Is there a site that approaches (online) purchasing of apparel from a serious and rigorous consumer perspective? I'm thinking of a site where I select, say, t-shirts and get detailed information about the garment, various garment variations (athletic t-shirt, work t-shirt, etc), washing Instructions, which high quality value brands that sell t-shirts, verified quality testing of t-shirts from forementioned brands, etc.

I'm a mid-twenties, relatively-tall, relatively-fit (6' 1", 180 lbs...but I run a lot) guy who has a shirt problem. During the colder months I really like wearing long-sleeve cotton shirts as a sort of base layer under other things. My problem? I can't find any brand that fits...either the arms are too short, or the shirt maker seems to presume that I'm going to have a beer belly to go along with my longer than average arms. I.e., what I'm looking for is something like the small size of this,
but with longer arms. I realize I could get larger shirts tailored down or go the bespoken route, but both of those options seem kind of overkill for what should really be a pretty standard product. Are there any brands that serve guys in my size by default? [more inside]

I'd like to buy a new suit. I'd also like to lose a lot of weight. Will the suit still look alright if I lose 60 lbs and have it altered, or should I just wait until I lose the weight? [more inside]

I've only found help on how to Shrink stuff, not how to avoid it.
So the American Apparel medium t-shirts are too big for me even after a wash, but their small shirts are perfect pre-wash. They are 100% cotton and I'm wondering what I can do to not have them shrink at all. Can I hand wash them gently with detergent and then hang dry? Any experience or anecdotes would be great!

Where do t-shirts come from? I bought a t-shirt from a thirft store with a funny print. It reads "America. Made by Humans." It's a standard baseball style shirt otherwise, but its tag was "American Art Wear." I'm interested in the printing of the t-shirt more than the original manufacturer of the shirt. The manager of the store said something a bit cryptic: that the owner/clothes buyer gets most of the tees off the backs of trucks at trade fairs. Who is in the business of printing t-shirts for this kind of distribution? Who is "American Art Wear"?
