I am a 49 y/o woman traveling for Xmas to Akumal (near Cancun) with my family and my extended family.
We are staying in condos right on the beach and I want to pack comfortable clothes/shoes but still look good.
What besides swimsuits and cover-ups and hat should I take?
What shoes? I have Keen water sandals but they do fill up with sand on the beach and are probably mainly for river shoes when you need to walk on rocks. I also have black teva flip flops. Not the most flattering at all!
We will be snorkeling, reading on the beach, walking, sightseeing going to restaurants, playing with young nieces and nephews.
Thank you!

There was a website that launched a couple of years ago (not sure if it still exists) where this guy put the entire contents of his closet online (pictures) and had people tell him what to wear every day (or at least sometimes). Anyone else remember the site? Trying to google for it is much harder than you'd think.

Whilst in Malaysia a few years ago, I picked up some very high-quality, very cheap Ralph Lauren 'Oxford' dress shirts. I realise they were probably fake, but I don't care - they were comfortable, and cheap enough to not care about destroying them.
My mum's in Hong Kong at the moment, and I've asked her to get me some more. Does anyone know where she'll find them and, so she doesn't get ripped off, how much she should expect to pay?

CostumeFilter: I'm making my own henchman costume this Halloween, and I'll be driving past downtown LA tomorrow morning. Are there any specific stores I should check out if I'm looking for cheap generic clothes? I'm looking for solid color plain long-sleeve shirts, sweatpants, things of that nature. Bonus points if I can find gloves and cheap generic boots.

Where to find genuinely black dress clothing that matches - shirt, tie, belt, slacks, shoes -- a seamless whole from three feet away? Obviously, this isn't an outfit one would have many opportunities to wear, but once or twice a year it would be entertaining to be able to dress stylishly but somberly in black. Black, not dark gray, but black. Like what you see when there is no light at all, black like blindness. Black slacks -- flat front because pleats are fussy (but reversed box are almost acceptable) -- with a shirt of black identical to the black of the slacks -- amazingly difficult to find -- black tie, black belt -- matte -- black shoes -- suede or matte leather. It's worth money to me if, by halloween, I can (at least in dim light) look like a floating head and two hands and depress undertakers.

Dress me and Mr. F for a Hindu wedding in November in NorCal. Difficulty factor: we are slightly large white folks who never wear anything except cargo pants and T-shirts, and my native guide doesn't know what non-Indians wear to such things.

Where can I find oxford type dress school shirts in a size 14? I am looking for pastel school shirts, size 14. I have the normal colors (yellow, pink blue white) but I want green, orange etc. The better the brand (Ralph lauren, tommy hilifiger), the better. I know polo doesn't make size 14, and I would like direct links to the item not just brand websites. Btw, I want oxford with the buttons on the collar, not dress shirts and also the cheaper the better but thats not really an issue.
Thanks

Women cyclists-----can you recommend some cute and comfortable biking tops?
I bike with a friend a few times a week for exercise doing hills and paths in our town and would like some tops that feel good and look good. I also do errands on my bike from time to time.
I have black padded shorts and need some tops that will inspire me to get out and ride.
Any recommendations for summer tops and if you have ideas for fall biking clothes I would be interested in that too!
Thank you!

Alternative for chest of drawers to keep clothes? I'm moving to a new apartment and don't feel like lugging a heavy chest of drawers 3 stories.
What are good ways for you to store clothes that makes it easy to access most of them daily and doesn't look too "ghetto"? Plastic drawers are an option of course.

My wife just can't find appropriate and stylish clothes for women in my age group (mid-50s). Eileen Fisher is too shapeless; she doesn'tt like low-cut waistline jeans; and the shoes available these days are just godawful. Can anyone recommend any labels, stores, catalogs, etc. where smart-looking, but not extreme clothes are sold? She's not trying to impress a Vogue editor, but she's tired of dressing from Land's End.
