A couple of years ago I bought two bizarre T-shirts from an obscure, Japanese website. See them here

My wife is 5 foot 1. Finding clothes has always been hard for her, but as sizes balloon it's become nearly impossible. Now even ladies' small sweatpants are too big for her; she can wear boys' sweats, but boys' jeans aren't cut for her curves. "I can find 6s, but not in petites. I can find petites, but not in a 6. There are short American women, and there are thin American women, but apparently there are no short, thin American women." Any advice? Where should she shop?

I need a new belt to hold up my pants. The one I have now is about 20+ years old.
I'd like one that does not use animal products, uses natural fibers, is about 3/4 wide, thin, durable, and unobtrusive. Any ideas?

I'm about to take a long-awaited trip to Europe, but only recently have I acknowledged to myself that this is in fact winter, and the trip will likely be very different from the last summer I spent abroad. Help me prepare for the cold road, materially, intinerarily, psychically... [more inside]

I normally dress preppy but was recently told that it doesn't match my personality which is antisocial. People tell me I act like the person that should have lots of tattoos and dress like the lead singer of a modern rock band, but I dont like that style, any suggestions on stores or styles of dress that will fit my personality? links to pictures etc

I'm finding myself liking punkish/gothic/emo type clothes (I never have before), such as Criminal Damage's "Hook Trench" and "Military Jacket" coats. Is this acceptable for wearing-around clothes, or just too "weird" for most people? I'd like input on this, since it's all rather new to me. [more inside]

Last night in the course of being "Mime Donald Trump", I got white grease paint on my pants. Is there a way to get this off of the pants? Will a dry cleaners be able to do it? Are there any home remedies I can use?

Help me find a store in Carnegie Hill New York that sells cool ties imported from Japan. I read a review in a hotel magazine *Gotham?) and they looked perfect for a gift I need to buy, but I lost the magazine! The store may have been called "Seige" or something similar. Google can't seem to help me! Please help, I'm only in town for today (Saturday!). Thanks!

Over the next few months, I need to buy a lot
of new clothes to bulk up my professional (woman's) wardrobe. I want everything I buy to fit well. Slacks, skirts, blazers need to be lined. I will not buy anything without trying it on first, so web and catalog shopping is out. I don't have the budget to buy this all at full price. What kinds of strategies can I employ to get the best deals possible? Are there specific stores I should be shopping in? Are there sales I should watch for? Are there specific dates, weekends or times of year when I can get the best deals? How can I find out about and obtain about great coupons and upcoming sales?

Zebedee has 75 FUCKING BUTTON-DOWN SHIRTS... He gets a lot of them for free from his employers, but this is out of control. I told him that it isn't normal. We both want to know what is normal. What is the average number of articles of clothing owned by adult males in western society? T-shirts, button-down shirts, trousers, underwear and so on. Citations from studies or surveys would be best.

How come we never hear about nude ghosts? Clothes always seem to go into the spirit world in anecdote and popular culture. Is this a reflection of society's taboos, or do ghost believers have an explanation?

I usually try to buy clothes made in first world country, by looking at the label (Milan, London, made in LA). I always assumed that the Western world had minimum wages, and other progressive standards that say, made in China didn't. I use this to justify the high cost of the goods, but my father informs that this is untrue and the expensive hand labor of ripping the jeans, sanding, etc. are done in places such as LA -- but are sweatshop conditions (by employing illegals, ignoring labor laws, etc.). Is this true? [more inside]
