I'm basically looking for the opposite of Forever 21 cheapy disposable stuff. I don't want designer fashion (and especially don't want their astronomical prices!), but I'd like clothes that I can wear to work or more casual shirts and dresses I could wear on the weekend. I used to shop at Ann Taylor and Banana Republic, and I still do on occasion, but I'm wondering if there are clothes that are higher quality that don't cost too much more. For example, Hanna Andersson's women's clothing intrigues me, especially the dresses in pima cotton.
I travel for work, but not often enough to get the upgrade. What's best to wear on cross-country flights? [more inside]
This previous question could almost be me--except that I'm much larger. I need to find a wedding outfit for a December wedding in Vegas, and I'm profoundly uncomfortable in dresses. Can you help me find sources for dressy straight-butch-ish clothes, in maybe a 26/28 size pant and a top size that ranges from 28 into the 30s? [more inside]
I'm attending my sister-in-law's wedding next month and we finally got confirmation that the ceremony/reception dress code will be "cocktail". I'm a woman who is tired of buying dresses I hate wearing and feeling uncomfortable at these sorts of things, so what can I wear that's appropriate but also me? [more inside]

Can you help me find the form-fitting, top-supporting undershirt of my dreams? I'm looking for something I can buy 15-20 of because I hate shopping and just want to get it over with. I've been wearing "long and lean" tank tops, and they're completely amazing fresh off the rack, but they get loose and stretchy after only a few washes and wears. Specifics below the fold! Cluelessly-dressed 30-year-old office-working lady here. I have come to the conclusion that it is in my best interest to start leaning much more toward the business side of business casual on a daily basis. Professional women/fashion mavens of Metafilter, could you lend me a hand with these business wear-related queries? [more inside]

Women cyclists-----can you recommend some cute and comfortable biking tops? I bike with a friend a few times a week for exercise doing hills and paths in our town and would like some tops that feel good and look good. I also do errands on my bike from time to time. I have black padded shorts and need some tops that will inspire me to get out and ride. Any recommendations for summer tops and if you have ideas for fall biking clothes I would be interested in that too! Thank you!

My wife is 5 foot 1. Finding clothes has always been hard for her, but as sizes balloon it's become nearly impossible. Now even ladies' small sweatpants are too big for her; she can wear boys' sweats, but boys' jeans aren't cut for her curves. "I can find 6s, but not in petites. I can find petites, but not in a 6. There are short American women, and there are thin American women, but apparently there are no short, thin American women." Any advice? Where should she shop?
