Rebound or closure sex or...? Help me identify it

I find it difficult to break up with someone, so there's often a phase where I try to be 'platonic friends' but we go back to normal and then I try to break up again and repeat and repeat. At this point, the relationship is pretty bad for both me and the ex as we fight a lot but I simply cannot get over my feelings for the ex (is this codependency?). [more inside]

It's not you; it's me, not understanding you (Closure Edition)

What characterizes someone for whom closure is anathema? Or at least, feels no drive toward closure, and is perfectly OK with broken, messy, unresolved relationships? (Not just romantic or interpersonal ones... but those are what matter most IMO.) [more inside]

Should I confront the man who sexually assaulted me 14 years ago?

Days gone Bye!

An impoverished friend that I haven’t seen in 5 years contacted me about lack of closure. There were a lot of bad things that happened then, that are not necessarily morally bad... I’m just not sure how to feel about it all or respond in kind? [more inside]

Help for the Helper?

I'm fairly new to my career in social work and am looking for book recommendations for when the counsellor needs help moving on from a crappy situation involving a client. Everytime I try to search for this, all that comes up are the books that help clients who have been mistreated by the therapist. But what about us? [more inside]

Should I tell him I know he is a liar, or is that too drama queen of me?

In July, I entered my only FWB relationship. I started catching feelings, and he decided he couldn't reciprocate. He came back into my life on New Year's Eve wanting more. HOWEVER, I have found out some things that have inspired my current run for the hills (irrelevant as it may be, the nitty-gritty is inside). How do I tell him that I know the truth? Or, should I just go cold turkey on communication? [more inside]

Shut up and let me go?

Do I let my dad back in my life? He was basically absent for my entire childhood, and often I feel at peace with excising him from my adulthood life as well. However, he'll email me on occasion and I feel this terrible pang, a worry that I'll regret not knowing him when it's too late to make amends. If you were in a similar situation, what did you do? the hardest thing i've ever done/to be so in love with you and so alone

I have an extremely complicated relationship with a person I consider the love of my life. We failed miserably at our most recent (and 4th) try at making it work, so we're trying to do post-break up things differently this time -- in hopes we can get closure FOR REAL. There are more details inside, but my questions are: Is talking/keeping in touch post-breakup the stupidest idea ever? How do you accept the fact that you're in-love and always will be, but that you can't be together? How do you accept the failures/incompatiblities and move on without thinking things like, "oh the circumstances sucked and we just didn't get a fair shot"? And perhaps most importantly, how do you work to remain close without secretly praying it will eventually work out? I'm posting this because I need advice from people who have experienced similar situations, but I would also love any suggestions on relatable books or films. [more inside]
