I see you.

Searching for something Bill Clinton once said, when he was on Oprah. Help me find this quote! I remember Bill Clinton being on Oprah about 5 or 6 years ago. They were discussing African traditions, I think. Bill Clinton mentioned a tribe that acknowledges one another by using a phrase that translates to "I see you" rather than "hello" or something similar.

I can't find anything about the interview or this quote online. I'd love to know what Clinton said (as it had to do with acknowledging each other, and how important that is) and what the actual phrase is, too.

Am I crazy? Did I imagine this?

Thanks in advance for any help or insight!

Obama assassination : 1 in 55?

Does the fact that the betting markets still give Hillary Clinton a 1 in 55 chance of being President in 2008, mean that that is a reasonable estimate of the chance that Obama is assassinated before the election? What else could justify those odds now?

Help me find a full image of a Clinton campaign poster from the Puerto Rican primary I'm a design geek, and having caught a glimpse of the poster in this photo on the New York Times website, I really want to see the whole thing, but my Google fu is letting me down.
Campaign debt relief?

I was very surprised to read a former political reporter's statement that the Obama campaign might offer to pay off the Clinton campaign's debt if/when she drops out of the primary race. Is this a common practice?

War Room?

ID this (Bill) Clinton campaign official in the documentary The War Room? In the documentary movie The War Room about the 1992 Clinton presidential campaign, a large group of Clinton campaign officials are meeting around a large table just before a convention talking about the size of their Clinton signs.

Who is the man standing at the end of the room, somewhat annoyed, saying things along the lines of: "Now wait a minute Bob." "Let's get a decision on this." "I know this isn't the greatest policy decision ever..."

I Nominate Myself...

Help me sort out an issue involving the Presidency, the Senate, and the authority of the governor of New York... This NY Times article notes that “[New York Lt. Gov. David] Paterson has been a staunch supporter of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential bid and was widely viewed as a leading candidate to succeed her should she be elected president in November. (In the event of a Senate vacancy, the governor is to appoint a replacement.)”

David Paterson is now also expected to become governor of New York upon the (assumed to be impending) resignation of Eliot Spitzer.

Assuming that:

(1) Spitzer resigns and Paterson becomes governor of New York, and
(2) Clinton wins the nomination, and then the election, and
(3) Paterson is more interested in being a senator than a governor

can he, as governor, appoint himself senator (giving up the governor’s office in the process)?

Where do Obama and Clinton REALLY stand on healthcare?

What are the main differences between Obama and Clinton's healthcare proposals? Everything I've read and heard seems to basically state that Hillary leans toward a federal-type plan while Obama doesn't. In reading both of their proposals, I'm hard pressed to see many differences in where they stand. This blog post inspired this question. As an aside, it was an interesting read.

Didn't Clinton and Obama tie in New Hampshire?

If the point of a Presidential Primary is to determine how many delegates will vote for a given person in the next phase of picking a nominee, and both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama got 9 pledged delegates in New Hampshire, didn't they tie? I'm not necessarily for Clinton or Obama, and I don't want to talk about the merits of any candidate. I'm just curious about the mechanics of this one thing, and why, even though they both got 9 delegates, Hillary Clinton is the winner of New Hampshire.

I'm gonna try to cut together a little political viral video and would love to get my hands on high quality video of the recent democratic debates. Does anyone know of a source on the net to download full resolution (720x480) quicktimes of the debates, or has anyone out there taped or tivo'ed the debates in the greater Los Angeles area who would let me either copy/borrow what you recorded? Thanks ahead of time for your help.

Podcast of Clinton on Larry King Live?

Where can I find a podcast / mp3 of Bill Clinton's interview with Larry King from last night? It was his first public TV interview in aeons, and Hillary finally let him out of his cage long enough to spend an hour on Larry King Live. And drat it all to heck, the closed-captioning at the gym wasn't working and I didn't have an FM receiver to be able to listen.

Where can I find a podcast so I can listen to it tonight while working out?

What qualities make Bill Clinton attractive

Why is Bill Clinton viewed as an inspiration to the world, whereas many other international politicians struggle to find the qualities that unite people? This isn't a sales or politics askme, nor a USA blindside to the current state of affairs. So take with a grain of salt.

After traveling the world, I do find it rather amusing so many people identify one man as having their common goals and ambitions many years after his sphere of influence has dissipated.

His charm and charisma are legendary, but I am looking for the reasons. Is it a comforting word? Working knowledge? Or just down right say anything to anyone?

Explain to me what the "hair and hemline" issue is?
Entire Congress transcript of Clinton impeachment?

Where can I find a complete transcript, preferably in a single PDF file (or at the most 4 or 5) of the House and Senate deliberations, debates and votes over Bill Clinton's impeachment? Of course, it would be a large file. Believe it or not, I've taken a random interest in this and I just want to be able to sit in front of a single PDF and read carefully for days, not clicking a single link or typing a single page number in the process.

I've tried GPO and THOMAS; no luck, although the GPO does output single pages of the Record, which are just frustrating. You have to type a single page number to trigger the PDF output, and you can't specify a range, which sucks.

I've googled around the web and MeFi and AskMeFi. Apologies if I've missed anything!
