I could use some help figuring out how to phrase a request that my boyfriend give his bedding a spin in the laundry. We're pretty newly minted, and I understand the need for tact here, but I am blanking on the best way to say this. [more inside]

How often do you you change your sheets? (I'm specifically interested in single apartment-dwellers - if you're married, please feel free to contribute, but make a note of your marital status ... or ideally, note the difference between you as part of a married couple and as a single person). Thanks!

Is there a utility out there that does for Javascript code what HTML Tidy does for (X)HTML? I've started working with a bunch of Javascript code that's just messy as all hell, and would love to preprocess it into something a bit neater before buckling down and getting to work. Something online (similar to this online HTML Tidy interface) would be perfect, something *nix command-line would be good as well, and I guess an app that handled the cleanup would be fine (OS X preferred). This might be a no-brainer, but I've searched high and low without results...

Many lavatories on trains have signs warning that the water in the sink is not safe to drink. If it's not clean enough to drink, am I really making my hands cleaner by washing with it?

I've had the flu since Wednesday. I haven't left my apartment since Friday. A friend just told me that I won't get better unless I air out my apartment and take a walk outside. Is that true? Can germs live in your bedsheets?
I'd readily go outside, but there's two feet of snow and it's fourteen degrees out.

My fingernails are like magnets for dirt. Every day I have to clean out the crud that gets underneath them. While it isn't a hassle, how is it that a female with long nails is able to keep hers clean where I struggle to keep mine clean for more than 2 hours or so? Is there some fingernail gnome who just loves to keep my fingernails dirty? Is there an easy way for me to keep them clean for more than lets say half a day?
