I want to get a new perfume but perfume shopping is an utterly horrible experience for me. I'm looking for a very clean smelling perfume. What can you suggest?

So. I live on the ground floor. My apartment complex hires leafblowers to come and blow leaves and dirt out of the parking lot twice a week. Every time they come to do this, I come home to dirt, in the entryway of my apartment, that has blown in under my front door. It's a new door, with a new rubber guard at the bottom. How can I prevent this from happening?

I have a specific site in mind, and I can't find it for the life of me. It's a consciously minimalist design, about 5 stories per day, summarized. The stories are all in a single column, on a single page, black text on a white background. Clean as clean can be.

Cooking popcorn with vegetable oil is discoloring my stainless steel pan. It leaves a dark yellowish stain both inside and outside around the rim. Is this a reaction with the metal? Is there a way to avoid this happening? And most importantly, is there a way to remove this discoloration? Scrubbing does nothing.

It's my grandmother's birthday next week, and I'd like to give her some sort of book with cute and funny short stories/jokes, a la
Reader's Digest. It should also be clean humor

I've had a Canon 5D Mark II for about 2.5 years, and I've recently noticed some bad dust particle issues that are on the sensor or mirror, not the lens. Can someone recommend a good camera store in New York City that could do a good professional job of cleaning my sensor (and an idea of how much this will cost)? I've looked into cleaning kits, and I think I would rather have a professional do it. Thanks!

My boyfriend and I have very different views on what constitutes "clean". I'm not talking about differences when it comes to keeping one's room neat and organized. We're on the same page about that. I'm talking about re-using towels, sponges, dirty dish rags, and keeping counter tops SANITARY. Help me parse this one out.

My all-leather combat boots stink. Probably colonized by fungus. Looking to disinfect and wash without murdering the old, already mildly damaged leather.

My wife gave me a ring 2-3 years ago (while we were still dating). It's made from a New York State quarter, and silver(?) plated. About 6 months ago it started to tarnish, and now the copper from the inside of the quarter has been revealed. It's beginning to turn my skin green! Can I just take this to any jewelry shop and they can fix it up? Can it simply be replated? [Alternate solution inside]

Somebody apparently tried to clean my laptop's screen with something inappropriate, and the result is something of a very thin, marbled film across the entire thing. How can I get this crap off my screen?

I can't get a body odor smell out of an expensive silk dress. Dry cleaning seems to have made it worse. Does anyone know what might get the smell out?

Tomorrow I'll list my ACER Aspire 3680 for sale on eBay. I want to be as sure as I can that there the lucky buyer has as little chance as possible of seeing passwords/pics/personal info. Normally, I would just format and do a clean install of XP. But I've moved house and my install disk is one of 19 packing cases stored 2500km away, so that option is out. I've listed what I've already done after the jump, but I'm hoping a more tech-savvy mefite might spot a hole in my erasure efforts.
