Last week, my son (9 years old) was punished by his teacher (for trying to elbow his way back into a lineup). The punishment: the teacher made my son stand in the same spot for 1 hour (the duration of the class).
I think this type of punishment is over the line, and I'm pretty angry about it. Am I over-reacting?

My fundraising training class has taken off. I started teaching four weeks ago and now I have been asked to teach two more modules. Problem is one is in London. I would like to find a place to lead a fundraising training on consecutive Sundays in Watford between Watford High Street, Watford Junction and Watford Tube starting in September. Anyone have any ideas or alternatives I should consider? My classes are action learning so there are only handouts and homework not overheads.

Can anyone help find a cite for a study? I think I heard about it on the radio at some point. It was a study that recorded classrooms - I think high school - and then talked about how much classroom time was spent on girls' discussion and questions and how much on boys. It also surveyed student/teacher perceptions of the time spent, and had a follow-up component where teachers tried to even out the time. Thanks in advance!

I am quite interested in finding a video I saw a year or two ( scratches head ) ago where a class room (possibly as young as six) of kids were taught how PGP works with construction paper.
It got me to my understanding and I need to share it with others as it was memorable for being so good at it .
I will now go and help someone else to pay for not bookmarking it . . . Google is giving me nothing

The lecture section of my Human Bio class is in a roughly 25x50 ft computer lab. The class is packed, I barely have enough seats for everyone, and better than half of my students can't see what is going on in the front of the classroom.
Help me modify my teaching style and technology so my whole class can see my notes, videos etc.
