What classical music piece is used here
? I know the frenetic piece following is Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody but I'm stumped with tranquil piano part. It sounds like a Mozart Piano Sonata though I'm not sure which one.

I go through phases where I listen to lots of classical piano/organ music, but I tend to rehash the same pieces (some Bach, mostly). I'd love to expand my collection. What are your favorite classical piano recordings? [more inside]

Why can't I find "32 Short Films About Glenn Gould" on DVD? I really loved that movie -- a drama/documentary about the brilliant, eccentric Canadian pianist who played the works of J.S. Bach like no one else. I haven't seen it in 10 years though, so I'm not sure how it has held up. I tried to find it recently and it doesn't seem to be available on DVD. There are some VHS tapes on eBay, but I don't want a VHS tape and don't want it bad enough to pay $100 for it (some copies were moving for over $300 on Amazon.) Does anyone know why it (presumably) hasn't been released on DVD? A poor money risk for a studio? Rights problems of some kind? Thanks.

Can you describe to a non-music-theorist fan the differences a close listener might hear in the piano music composed by Chopin, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann and Beethoven? I've been loving exploring classical music but things start to blur during the 1800-1850 era. I'd like to be able to better hear what the above composers are doing differently from one another. General thoughts about their music are welcome (book recommendations, too), but especially interested in info related to solo or prominent piano pieces.

Please help me find some sheet music. The piano is finally out of storage, tuned, ready to play and I cannot find my favorite sheet music. ARGH. The Gayaneh Ballet Suite; by Aram Khatchurian (I've tried various spellings of the last name and of the ballet name), arranged for solo piano. A friend gave me a Russian language edition in high school. it's missing and I cannot find a publisher. There's a shop in town that can order it, if I can find a publisher. [more inside]

Recently I've realized that I enjoy listening to piano music, but I'm not really familiar with it. Can you recommend CDs/compilations/pieces that I might like? [more inside]

In Nina Simone's "Love Me or Leave Me"
she plays a piano solo that incorporates a bit baroque* classical piano. Makes sense, since she was trained as a classical pianist, and the effect is wonderful. Please recommend some other songs or artists that use this kind of jazz/baroque combo.
* Disclaimer: I'm not a classical music expert, so I may have the terminology wrong. I welcome your corrections.
