Do you know of good cooking classes in NYC that are suitable for vegans? Classes that focus on how to prepare full meals, not just individual dishes, would be preferred (but I'll take whatever suggestions you've got). [more inside]
I'm looking for NYC poetry class recommendations! Gotham Writer's Workshop and 92Y are both offering courses that start soon. Poet's House also offers classes but they haven't announced the dates yet. Does anyone have experiences with any of these? Are there other poetry classes or groups I'm overlooking? [more inside]
Where do you find great hip-hop dance classes in NYC? I have never taken a dance class before. I am interested in private instruction or intimate classes (NOT a gym class...). I would like to learn as quickly as possible, in a structured way. I don't expect to go from 0-60 overnight, but I will put in some serious work. I tend to prefer methodical approaches to learning new skills with clear goals. I'm most interested in hearing about personal experiences and recommendations.
I am interested in taking a few continuing ed classes at FIT related to photography, and I was wondering if anyone had experience with this (or with continuing ed at FIT in general). [more inside]

I've been looking forward to taking classes at the YWCA Arts & Crafts League in NYC, ever since I found out about it a few months ago. However, it turns out that they will closing after their current term of classes, possibly re-opening in the fall with a reduced slate of classes. What other reasonably priced options are there in NYC (Brooklyn, Queens or Manhatten) for arts & crafts classes? [more inside]
