Back in October, I bought some cigars. Five of them. Macanudo Portofinos -- the kind in the white screw-top tube. Since then, they've lived in a kitchen cabinet, never opened, untouched in a zip-lock bag. My question is ... does anyone think they're still smokeable as is? Or is there some way to restore their viability?

Movies, sitcoms, and people who talk to much all make big todo about Cuban cigars. I figure much of this comes from the US embargo/ taboo against them, but is there anything more to them? I'd don't smoke, so I'll never have any first hand experience, but I've always wondered if they were actually special. Then why?

I have some cigars I received as a gift a few weeks ago. I didn't place them in a humidor (I didn't have one) and are now they are all dried out. Will putting them into a humidor and rehydrating them return any sort of quality back to them? Is it worth it?
