I like to watch a lot of streaming video especially for sports games. I usually use the Google Chrome browser. But some sites' media players say they only work with Firefox or IE and won't even give me the chance of trying it out in Chrome. Is there a way to trick the sites into thinking Chrome is really one of the approved browsers? Or is there really some fundamental difference that makes the players break in Chrome? [more inside]

Is it possible to disable the "most visited / recent history" tab in the Google Chrome browser? I can set Chrome so that it loads a blank page on startup, but when opening a tab it displays all my most visited sites. This inspired one very embarrassing moment when a friend unconsciously CTRL-Tabbed and saw a glaring menu of my darkest internet meanderings. Several sites claim to be able to solve this but no instructions I have yet followed have made any difference.

When I browse to Talking Points Memo with Chrome from work I see the page as of Sept 24th. At home, with Chrome, I see the page as of today. At work in IE7 I see the site correctly. No other websites are affected. [more inside]

I got a Chrome bag a month or so ago that's been working great. However, I don't like the Velcro. It's incredibly loud when it separates, which is fine for some things, but for getting in & out of it when I'm in a place I don't really want to make a lot of noise it's difficult. [more inside]

So, I'm getting a messenger bag. I already struck Timbuk2 out of the picture. I'm looking at Chrome or BaileyWorks now.. Chrome has good pictures on their site of their bags. Baileyworks... doesn't. I recently had a plumber install new shower/tub faucets. They all have a nice brushed nickel finish. He had to cut into tile to get the valve in, so he installed a coverplate (thin oval piece) under the appartus to turn on the water. The problem is, the coverplate is chrome. It clashes with the brushed nickel finish of the new stuff. Since I already spent a buttload to get these installed, what would be a cheap way to make the chrome look more like brushed nickel? I searched for brushed nickel paint, but no luck so far.
