Things to do on Christmas day in San Francisco

So my original Christmas day plans fell through, and I live 5000 miles from most of my family. I do have a brother who recently moved to San Jose, though, and we'd like to spend the day doing something together. We're both wary of bringing each other to friends houses (we're different kinds of people, move in different circles, etc) - so we'd like to try and find something fun and novel that we can go and do, just the 2 of us (though if it were something social in the sense that we may meet a bunch of strangers doing this thing, then that would be cool). Anybody have any ideas? We're also British. I don't know if this information will help you, but hey, there you have it. 2 British guys in San Francisco with no idea what to do on Xmas day. Hive mind, halp!

What are considered the DEFINITIVE versions of popular Christmas songs?

So, after decades of basically ignoring them, I'm finally getting into the spirit of enjoying classic Christmas songs. But I don't know much about them. I know many of them have been covered literally hundreds of times. As a starting point, I'd like to better understand which versions of popular Christmas songs have been MOST popular over time. No-Christmas Christmas

I'm interested in passing Christmas (24/25 December) somewhere that does not celebrate Christmas at that time. The shops and monuments should be open, the people should be doing their thing, and life should be going on more-or-less as normal. For a number of reasons, I'm particularly interested in doing this in a place that celebrates the Orthodox Christmas (6/7 January). Have any of you spent the holiday season in such a country? Which one? What was going on during the 24/25 Dec? Would you recommend visiting? I'm also curious to hear about your New Year's experiences in those places, but it is less important. (If you have a really awesome idea in another region I'll hear you out for the sake of others who may have a similar question.)

Gift ideas for my boyfriend’s dad?

Help me pick a great gift for my boyfriend’s dad. I’m spending Christmas Day with my partner’s family. They do a Kris Kringle for the adults, and I’ve drawn my partner’s father. Where to find last year's Furla handbag

Help me find a great handbag for my wife! I've really taken a liking to the Furla Frida as in this Sartorialist pic (handbag on the left). I can't find it anywhere as it came out last year (except for $600 in the UK). I've done all of the top line google searches etc... Please post suggestions of places to look or for similar items if you know of any. I'm also in LA if there are appropriate brick and mortar solutions. Used is great too.

German story (folktale?) on Christmas CD

Somewhere between 1991 and 1994, my father went on a business trip to Germany and visited a company called Elsentooling. For three years afterwards, they sent our family a Christmas card with one of those extra-small compact discs inside. We still listen to the first one because it's just that good. However, it's all in German, and I know not a stitch of it, though I'm half German. The second-to-last track (uploaded here) is some sort of story. Is it something an American would be familiar with if you mentioned the title? If not, I'm curious how the story goes. [more inside]
