I remember one scene from a movie -- but what movie is it? A boy is sitting on the floor watching TV. We know that the kid's dad is a butcher. The boy is thinking about what he wants for Christmas (there's a narrator) -- typical toys. The Dad walks in with a large package wrapped in white paper and throws it on the floor and says "Hey kid, Merry Christmas" in a totally flat tone. We know the package is a side of beef or something like that, but I can't remember how we know that. [more inside]
Can you help me identify the following film from my mother's description. It's so I can buy it for her partner's Christmas present. She said 'P loves that corny film about someone trying to get home for christmas'. What film is she thinking of?
Can anyone tell me where I could find a copy (legit or not) of the 1974 TV movie "The Little Match Girl" (IMDB info here) that starred Lynsey Baxter. It was a great, particularly dark version, and I'd like to show it to my family this holiday. Any leads appreciated. It was originally produced by a TV station in Cincinnatti. I am not interested in any other version than this one. Thanks!

Need help recalling the name of an obscure(?) Christmas movie. It had a boy and a girl who run away to see Santa Claus (in Lapland?) and they get in trouble with Santa and run away to a gingerbread house and (a la Hansel and Gretel) an old lady/witch puts the boy in a cage and tries to fatten him up so she can eat him but they kids push her into the oven (I think). It's all a bit hazy but I think it was from the late 80s, or possibly early 90s.
Help me name this movie my 80 year old grandmother only gave me the barest of information on... this is a longshot....Can you do it? [more inside]
Help me recall which movie features a determined maniac lifting up a coed and impaling her on deer antlers above the fireplace? [more inside]
Name-that-movie time! Bumbling dad switches on over-the-top Christmas lights, causing the house to go up in flames and massive disappointment. A colleague and I were discussing Christmas movies and we both thought of this scene but we can't remember the movie it came from. It's probably a well-known US comedy (like Home Alone or Honey I shrunk the kids) from the 1980-1990s. This should be a piece of cake but my Google/IMDb/Tvtropes-fu fails me.
