So I wish to purchase a Wii for a Christmas gift. However, there are problems. Taking up residence in front of Zellers might not be an option, and I don't think I have the necessary funds to negotiate a purchase on eBay, with the scarcity premiums and the "Giant expensive package" traps. I live in Canada, and thus the WiiFinder sites I've found cannot seem to help me. Is there anything I can do to acquire a Wii, or do I have to wait until they can actually be purhchased like any regular consumer product? [more inside]

This past Christmas I got hung up on the idea of giving my brother a particular lamp that I saw many months before in a catalog from uncommongoods.com. The trouble is that they don't seem to stock it any more, I couldn't find the original catalog and now two months after Christmas I'm still looking for another store that stocks it. I only glimpsed it for a moment while I was l leafing through the catalog and I don't remember it well enough to describe it accurately, just well enough that I remember thinking "that would make a great gift".

I need help finding a Christmas gift. My girlfriend mentioned recently that she was a big fan of a particular type of cartoon and I'm having trouble finding out 1) what they are exactly, and 2) whether or not they're available for purchase.
The cartoons had a very 1950's feel to them, and the subject matter always dealt with a prediction of the future. Like a cartoony take on what life would be like in the year 2000 from the perspective of the 1950's. They usually played with the classic Looney Toons cartoons on Saturday mornings when I was a kid.
Not much to go on, I know. Any leads?

Christmas is coming, and to my brother and me that means one thing: The Dreaded 20 Questions Gift. About 5 years ago, my mother started this trend of giving everyone a small gift wrapped in tissue paper. The object is to guess what the gift is based only on touch and the answers to Yes or No questions. (And you can't open any other gifts until you guess what it is. Sometimes this goes on for HOURS!) My brother and I hate it, because our mother is a whiz at getting fantastic gifts, and we can never find anything worthy. This year I'm determined to best her. Any suggestions?
