What is up with this child?

I watch a 10-year-old girl whose behavior is very strange and I'd like to get to the bottom of it. She's a family member, and no one seems to take me very seriously when I mention her oddities. I spend ~20 hours with her weekly, and the more time I spend with her, the more concerned I am. Many details inside. [more inside]

Any Great Games To Play With/Against My Daughter on Two Android OS Devices?

My 8yo daughter (in a few weeks) and I love playing Plants vs. Zombies, Angry Birds and other games on Android. We play them on my Xoom, Kindle Fire, and HTC Thunderbolt (phone). Are there any good games like these (not first person shooters, please. She's 8 and we're Quaker) that would allow us to play against o with each other, one on the Xoom and the other on the Kindle?

Is it possible to commission an artist?

My wife keeps a list of all the words our 1 year old has learned to say. As a present I thought it might be nice to commission an artist to make a collage of them that we could put on the wall. I'm in London, England. I have no idea how one would do this, or if it would be affordable (I'd be prepared to spend up to around a thousand pounds). Can you commission an artist - and if so, how would you find one?

Advice for a seasonal allergy newbie

My 3 year old seems to have seasonal allergies now. (As of about 5 days ago, NYC-area.) I don't have them and his father's were adult-onset, so I don't really know how to minimize them at such a young age. Should we be keeping windows closed at all times? Get an indoor air filter? Avoid going outside at all on high pollen days? I'm not sure how much it should change our/his life going forward. [more inside]
