In the midst of wedding preparations here in Chicago, I have totally whiffed on flowers. We want to Midwest prairie flower corsages and such for our wedding this Saturday based around some milkweed pods we've been saving. We tried Kennicott's
to no avail because they only do wholesale.
Any ideas for where on the northside of Chicago we could go to cheaply (or even for free, if we're ethically picking something) acquire wildflowers and grasses this week?

I need to transport about 30 people half a mile in downtown Chicago very cheaply. It seems like the cheapest thing to do is just get 10 cabs since it's expensive to hire a bus or party-van-thing for one short trip. I was wondering if anyone had any different suggestions or have tried to orchestrate something similar.

I know that "nice" and "cheap" are mutually exclusive in the world of suit buying, but my fiance has put off purchasing his wedding suit till the last minute and we're sort of broke. [more inside]

I am looking for a venue for a cheap, small (35 people), and simple wedding ceremony in Chicago in May 2012 and are looking for suggestions. We are looking for somewhere beautiful where we don't need to do a lot of set up but is also cheap to rent.

Looking for an indoor/outdoor venue for our wedding/party in the greater Chicago area, that isn't astronomically expensive, and would offer some pretty scenery, and accomodate my ridiculous desire to dress my dog up as a ring bearer. [more inside]

What options do we have for a wedding officiant in Chicago?
We're planning a really small wedding cocktail party next fall. We'd like to do something to mark the occasion with our families and friends and expect to have a ring/vow exchange. However, the groom is not remotely religious and the setting will not be solemn. Therefore, we are unsure what options we have for an officiant. We don't a ceremony lasting more than 10-15 minutes. What can I give as a wedding present to a Chicago couple in their early forties who have combined their households, have everything they need, no registry, don't want more stuff? [more inside]

I'm getting married next Fall (hooray!) in Chicago, and we're currently close to finalizing plans to have the reception at Maxim's. As we begin the process of looking for caterers, I'm interested in hearing about any Chicago-based caterers that MeFites have used, and any they would recommend. [more inside]

Are there any Chicago-area wedding/reception venues that don’t require you to use their caterer? [more inside]

A good friend is getting married September 1st and I'm interested in buying for her and the Mr. a certificate for an at-home cooking lesson for the two of them--they've taken cooking classes before and dug them so I thought it might be fun for them to do it at home in their new place with their new stuff.
We/they live in Chicago--does anybody have any recommendations for places? I've come up with a few on Google but I want to see if anyone's had any personal experience with this since it seems a lot of it would depend on good customer service.

The wonderful, fantastic, exhilarating news is that we're getting married in Chicago in June. The less-good news is that we live in different cities, neither of which is anywhere near Chicago. So we could use a little help putting together the pieces, like florists, photographers, DJs, and oh yeah someone to actually do the marrying. And we've like got four months to do it in.
