Help me think through Lead in drinking water-- math, chemistry, biology

We're buying a house (still negotiating, hence the anonymity), and we have learned that the level of lead in the water is slightly above the expected range. Not knowing whether this is a big deal, I've tried to do some math to figure out whether being over the threshold is an object of legitimate concern (or whether the range is the fruit of a hyperactive regulatory state) and the process has led me to even more questions. How do I stop attracting the wrong guys and start attracting the right ones?

I was just broken up with by a really decent, kind guy because there was no "spark." He seemed like everything I ever wanted in a partner on paper. I knew there was no spark but I was perfectly fine with that, because it seems like the only guys I ever have mutual emotional chemistry with are either rageaholics, substance abusers, or commitmentphobes. I was more than willing to trade the spark for not being yelled at, put down, or inexplicably blown off. [more inside]

I don't want to be a complainer

I am getting really frustrated with my flaky chemistry professor. I don't want to complain about her mistakes to the Dean because I think she's a nice person and has some life circumstances I wouldn't wish on anyone (illness of her own and single caregiver for extremely ill and challenged child). How do I get over my frustration with her, stop resenting her, and also stop feeling upset and anxious when I study? [more inside]

Is there such as things as too much dating?

I feel like I am exerting a lot of energy towards dating without much return. I have fun while doing it, but since I rarely meet someone who lasts more than a date or two, it’s starting to feel like an exercise in futility. I have dating quantity, but how do I get quality? [more inside]

What the heck am I qualified for?

I'm planning on leaving my high-pressure hard science PhD program for something that won't make me hate life quite so much. The problem is that I really don't want to go back to biotech/pharma industry, especially without a PhD, unless totally necessary to support my family. So what am I good for? [more inside]
