(1) What's a cheap just plain record player that can output via rca cables?(2) Anyone know any good software or apps for doing that on a PC or mac?
Just figuring something might already exist to detect different tracks. [more inside]

Is there an alternative to Movable Type that is a decent open source publishing blog platform that can be fully programmed to be graphically modified and inserted into a custom website? [more inside]

I'm looking for some inexpensive/free solution to splitting a PDF by bookmark (first level bookmark), and using the bookmark names for the filenames of the split PDF. [more inside]

Does anybody know of anyplace I can get a cheap legal copy of Adobe Illustrator CS2 and Photoshop CS2? I would be fine purchasing a used copy if it was completely legal. I do not have the money right now to buy the software at the normal retail price but would like to learn them. Also, if I were to buy a used product from eBay, what should I make sure it includes to make it a legal copy? Cheers!

I'm a college student, and I was looking for a (cheap) money management software package to manage my loans, credit card, and income from work. Does anyone know of a cheap one that works well? I was looking at Quicken, but that's 80 bucks and seems like overkill.

I'm thinking about doing a bit of home recording & have been pondering 4-tracks & the like for a few weeks. Lately, though, I've been thinking it'd make more sense to do it all digitally through my computer & not worry about tapes & stuff. Given the need for hardware and software, what can fellow MeFites recommend that might set me back less than, say, $300?
