Stripey Chinese talisman

Help me identify this Chinese talisman thing. Got it as a freebie with lunch today (thanks to it being New Year and all) - who or what is the face, and what's the red flame-like symbol on it? Why the stripes?

I want a new phone charm!

Where can I order those little mobile phone charms online? I've got one that's a metal piglet with a big purple glass jewel and six little Asian cord knots in three shades of pink. All I can find around here (Scotland) are the Tigger/Piglet/Pooh/Mickey/etc ones and the shoe and purse ones. Is there a website that's got a wide selection and ships to the UK? English-language sites preferred.

Help me make a flip-flop charm entirely out of beads!

My mother received a cute flip-flop beadwork craft as a gift and will give me a whole dollar (ooh, ahh) if I found out how to make it or found instructions that make sense. The craft is a little flip-flop charm made of tiny beads and fishing line.

Pictures of the flip-flop can be found here:

I can't give you my dollar if you find me instructions, but you will receive my (and my mother's) ultimate gratitude!

Chinese good luck charm?

Appropriate good-luck gift for a Chinese friend defending her doctoral thesis? This woman is completely sweet to me, always buying me various Chinese treats and bringing them to me where I work. The other day, she told me that she had put one of the mochis she had bought for me in front of a Buddha for good luck.

Is there an appropriate Buddha related (or not) good luck charm I could get which would express my gratitude for her friendship while wishing her the best of luck this week? Thanks, all input appreciated.

how to win friends and influence people

Charm school -- is there such a thing? In many a movie our hero is coached by a wise old lady or gentleman toward having impeccable social graces. He or she develops a keen wit, an even temperament, and dazzling charisma.

Is this sort of service offered anywhere or by anyone in real life? I have recently come into a subtantial chunk of money and am fantasizing on ways in which I can spend it usefully. This may be one of them if it isn't too far fetched. I'm not talking about Dale Carnegie or other very basic sort of seminars -- been there and done that.
