Apart from Kiva, do you know of any good charities that support team-based giving?

Is there a website that lets ordinary non-millionaires do charity blackmail stunts, a la
Donald Trump? For example, suppose I'd like to set up a page where individuals can pledge $X to charity if Donald Trump goes 24 hours without talking. The website would take credit card numbers in advance; if the Donald keeps his mouth shut, the cards would be billed and the money passed on to charity.

We have approx $2500 shared amongst several people that we want to give to charity. But rather than a one off payment to a chosen charity, we want to figure out a way to use the money in a way that keeps on giving. Is't possible??

I'm ashamed: I bought a house, my child goes to a daycare that costs several hundred dollars a month, and I have all that I need. I also have been lax in giving to charity. I'd like to, but my wife sometimes is resistant, saying some version of the old saw that charity begins at home. I want some independent assessment for how much we should give. I've identified a number of charities I want to give to. But how much? Should it be a percentage of my salary?

My kids (12, 10, 8 yrs.) have decided they don't want Christmas gifts this year and would like to do something for those in need. I'm thrilled. Aside from working in a Food Bank or 'adopting a family' any other ideas?

Homeless shelters/charities in DC? I have a gazillion little hotel shampoos and lotions as well as some other unused regular toiletries I'd like to get rid off. Rather than chuck them or leave them in the lobby for my neighbors, I'm thinking a shelter for women might want them. Any recommendations? Googling brings up several but I have no idea which to choose.
