Our house is a small Cape, with a crawlspace attic. We’re going to get a home energy audit in the next couple of weeks, and the insulation of the attic is of particular concern for us, as it really gets quite warm on our second floor. Can I get your insulation wisdom here? [more inside]

I am taking a one-day trip to Manhattan. I get off the bus from Boston Sunday night by Penn Station and am busy from 11 am Monday until I catch my return bus from Penn Station at 5 pm. Two questions: What cool thing or things can I do Monday morning for a few hours before my 11 am meeting with friends to eat lunch just south of Central Park? One thought is to just wander that end of Central Park. What would be a good take-out low-carb meal to get to eat as I leave town? Is there any good BBQ in that area to recommend?
Please explain to me some things about central vacuum systems and/or steer me towards some good reference materials. I can find tons of websites by googling, but having a really hard time wading through thinly veiled advertising for real unbiased info. Especially concerning replacing the vacuum unit of a pre-installed system. [more inside]
Five of us from San Francisco and Los Angeles like to meet in the middle along the coast once a year and car-camp for a long weekend. The past few years we've had a blast at Limekiln State Park
campground, but it's under new management now and they won't allow us to reserve a specific ('our') campsite. In case we can't get one of the spots we want there, we'd like some backups to make reservations with somewhere between the southern end of Monterey Bay and San Luis Obispo—any suggestions? Hang on, let me tell you what we liked about Limekiln. [more inside]

Dance Central on Kinect for Xbox 360. Good for exercise? Seems like it could be fun and sweaty. Seems like it could also be really, really annoying. Also, what's the fidelity to actual movements like? Will I really be dancing, or gaming the system by just flicking a limb at the right time?

Although by no means an expert, I've been interested in the Austrian School for a long time and, as a result, am instinctively distrustful of central banks and fiat money. Can anyone recommend a room to rent in central London for an evening do? We'd like the room from 6.30-10 (or so). Needs to be able to hold about 100, with projection facilities, and preferably with the ability to bring our own refreshments (or to have decent and cheap catering).

It's driving me crazy. There's these new South Park commercials on Comedy Central that's a take on some interstitial, show intro, or commercial from my childhood (born in '76). It's the quasi-pinball roller coaster ad, where the silver ball goes by and flips up 3 flags. What are these ads a parody of? [more inside]
