I want a simple, dumb cell phone. Calling and texting are essential, number directory is semi-essential, clock + date are okay -
everything else I'd rather not have.

So the big telcos are blocking freeconferencecall.com (read more
here). Nasty corporations, this is outrageous, etc etc. Anyone got a quick and easy workaround (other than skype)?

And to think I grew up with a rotary phone and a typewriter… I'm moving in November, and I'm trying to figure out what my best options are for phone and internet service (I won't be getting cable unless it’s free or something). I'm asking these questions together because I understand bundling isn't just for the Amish anymore;-)

Mobile phones in Syria. Anybody happen to know what band they use over there/what company one could get a sim card from if one was going to stay there for a year?

I've upgraded
my mobile phone and now have the option of using polyphonic ringtones. The ringtones that come stock with the phone are cute and all, but I'd like to have some more options. A Google search for
ringtones pulls a ton of sites, but many of them seem just too sketchy. Do any of you have ringtone sites you'd recommend? And have you made your own, possibly from converted Mp3s?
