My father, a physician, is going on an European cruise through Denmark, Russia, Finland, Estonia, Norway, Sweden, and Georgia. He needs a cell phone plan that will allow him to call his patients here in the U.S. from each of those countries. He will be on this trip for roughly two weeks. He is more concerned about connectivity in each country, rather than price. What would be his best option?

There plenty of sites which offer unlocking service for a gsm phone. Are there some services or methods that are superior to others? I have read that unlocking has occasionally resulted compromised phone features. Any suggestions or recommendations? It's a Motorola Razr.

Are there any cellphone MP3 players that let you set an mp3 as a ringtone? I'm thinking of replacing my cellphone and mp3 player, but I refuse to buy a combo device that won't let me set an mp3 as a ringtone, because that's insane. I have a locked Motorola phone that I bought while on vacation 'cause I liked the phone and it was cheap. Now that I'm no longer in Mexico, I'd like to continue using the phone. I bought an unlock code based on the IMEI and was told to punch it in with a SIM from a company that the phone isn't locked to. However, whenever I put a SIM in from another company, the display reads "No Sim" and doesn't allow me to press any buttons. Any suggestions? [more inside]

Finally getting a cell phone. The only "feature" I care about is reception. I don't need any doodads, email, mp3s, video etc. etc--the only exception is I need to store 75 numbers or more. Price doesn't matter. What phone should I get? I'm in Toronto (east end/beaches) but am willing to buy thru eBay or whatever if necessary. Should I go with Rogers? Fido? Telus? (Refuse to go with Bell so that one's out). Lastly, I'm okay with doodads and whatnot as long as they don't affect reception so if you've got opinions on those, please share. I'm on a Mac.

Is this plan better than the Treo?
I have a Treo 700p, which I dig, don't get me wrong. I enjoy reading e-books, playing games, using online apps like Google Maps, Quickipedia, etc. But then I start to fondle my wife's ... phone. My wife and I need a pair of Blackberry-type devices (which also function as cell phones) for lots of text-messaging between ourselves throughout the day. We were thinking we wanted Blackberries, but when we went to the Cingular store tonight (we're locked into a Cingular contract until February 2008) the clerk made it sound as though a Windows Mobile device would be better. Any advice? [more inside]

What are the best websites to view on a mobile phone? I have a Samsung A900 and it has a pretty large viewing area, what websites would be best that are specifically formatted for cell phones? I am interested in any website that you can think of but specifically good news sites. Also any website that is leading the pack in UI for cell phones would be great. Also if you know any sites that aren't formatted for cell phones but still function well i'm interested.
