I want to buy a new "smart phone". (Hopefully smarter than its soon to be owner.) I want to try (or test drive) them out first. Is there a way to try various phones for a few days before actually purchasing one?

My work is providing me a Blackberry with voice plan that I'm expected to carry during waking hours and I don't want to carry multiple phones or maintain my $50+/month plan; I'm trying to figure out the best way to merge the two. Oh, and one other catch- I'd like to set up Google Voice for work and would really like to use the additional features that come with getting a Google Voice phone number.

Talking on my Blackberry while it was plugged into the charger did weird and horrible things to the battery (battery started bulging a bit and voltage changes made my phone crash a lot), and so I bought a new battery and refrain from doing that.
Must I avoid doing this with my iPhone as well or is this problem a quirk related to how Blackberries operate while in charging mode? I have unlimited minutes on my cell plan, other than battery talk-time limits...

My wife and I need a pair of Blackberry-type devices (which also function as cell phones) for lots of text-messaging between ourselves throughout the day. We were thinking we wanted Blackberries, but when we went to the Cingular store tonight (we're locked into a Cingular contract until February 2008) the clerk made it sound as though a Windows Mobile device would be better. Any advice?

I have a Blackberry 7290 and live in a basement apartment. I intermittently get one bar of signal in most places inside, but full service right outside the windows. What is the most effective option to increase service indoors so that I can maintain phone calls? I've seen the expensive cellular repeaters and I can't really justify spending that much. Thanks.

I'm looking into getting a Blackberry to have access to support requests via email when I'm away from my computer. However, I'm also going to be outside the US for four months this year, attending school, and I'd like to take it with me. Does anyone travel globally while using their Blackberry, and how is the coverage? This will be email only, I don't need the phone capabilities.
