Can I make a gluten free orzo analogue by pummeling other gf pasta

I'm wondering if anyone has tried making a gf orzo type thing by taking a bag of rotini or some type of other gf pastas and whacking it with a mallet into little pieces. Will they stick together? Will you get the same effect? Will it suck? Failing that, anyone have an Orzo substitute? White rice? Brown Rice? Forbidden Rice?

Recommend a butane stove for regular indoor use

I live in a shared house with 6 people and a rotating crew of guests. I'm celiac and I get really sick even with minute exposure to gluten. Since I was diagnosed, my roommates and I have cordoned off an area of the kitchen for my use. I also have my own set of pans, which I keep in a lidded plastic bin. But I'm still not feeling 100% better. Because we have so many guests who might not see my "gluten-free" signage, and because my roommates sometimes bake with wheat flour (which can stay in the air 24 hours or so after baking), I feel like the best solution is to set up an affordable personal kitchen in my bedroom. How do I bake some gluten free bread?

I love Canyon House 7 grain bread and the Udis Whole Grain Bread (Gluten Free, both of them). I love them, wonderful breads, the only trouble is it's hard to justify spending $6+ a week on bread that is gluten free. I have a gluten intolerance so I need to eat gluten free. I love to cook/bake, an have lots of flours and mixes. What's the best recipe that is most similar to Udis (any one) or Canyon House that is gluten free? I am looking for bread that doesn't fall apart, looks at tastes like sandwhich bread. Any Ideas? [more inside]

Help my sanity - share your grainless vegetarian recipes! I can't tolerate any grains, rice, oat, barley, wheat, corn, quinoa, etc. This means that traditional "gluten free" replacements are out of the question. I'm starting to hit the wall in terms of being able to deal with it, and I need some variety in my diet! Wheat as an allergen catalyst?

I don't seem to be allergic to wheat, but eating wheat makes me allergic to many other things, including uncooked fruits, nuts and vegetables (except citrus), general seasonal allergies, animals, etc. When I stop eating wheat, my allergies to ALL of these things go away.
