Star sightings in NYC: This will be my second trip to NY. We will be in town March 4-5 staying near times square. Where's the best place to catch the celeb's? We probably won't be hitting any clubs mostly restaurants. I have prowled around the green looking for this but most of the questions I found just had to do with the touristy must do's. [more inside]

How do I find a list of publicists for stars of the theatrical stage or screen? Basically, I can be a hero if I can find celebrities currently in London, England recognizable to a Canadian audience. We need to hire them for a charming bit on our show... but the ones on our short list have not turned out. Therefore, I am now looking to get in touch with an appropriate publicist who has LOTS of clients and who can make suggestions as to who we should use, and then give them to us. [more inside]

I once read a book about a couple of autograph hounds who ranked celebrities by their willingness to meet with fans and sign autographs. If this system were ported to the web and opened to the public, allowing anyone who's had contact with a celebrity to rank their experience, how could you validate that the encounter actually happened? In order to inspire my pupils, and demonstrate to them that studying science does not mean you have to become a scientist, I'm trying to compile a list of famous people with science-related qualifications (bachelors degrees and better, preferably). I'm specifically interested in those with physics, chemistry or biology qualifications (or variations thereof, e.g. biochemistry, astrophysics) but if it turns out that Orlando Bloom has a degree in geology or Christina Aguilera is an expert neuroscientist then I'll take them too. I'm looking for tales about the dark side of Hollywood, showbiz, and the gossip/tabloid industry. I've read "Day of the Locust" and "The Mailroom: Hollywood History from the Bottom Up", seen "All About Eve" and "Sweet Smell of Success" and "Showgirls", am halfway through Julia Phillips' "You'll Never Eat Lunch In This Town Again", and am planning on reading Joe Eszterhas' "Hollywood Animal: A Memoir". I'm not looking for gossip, per se, as much as I am looking for explorations, whether first-hand or fictional, of how screwed up the cult of celebrity is. Suggestions for books, movies, musicals, blogs, or whatever would be welcomed.

I was recently in LA and had a strange run in with a well (-enough) known actor. I'm a native Californian and I don't consider myself too concerned with the goings-on of Hollywood, but this was just weird. The incident was so out there that I have to ask: Has anyone else had a bizzare run in with a celebrity? And when you met them/were run over by them/were propositioned for sex by them, were you starstruck at all, even if you don't consider yourself that kind of person (if you obliged them for sex, feel free to share that too)?

I'm collecting notes on Internet fame with the half-hearted goal of writing "How to be famous for 15 minutes or two years." But mostly I'm just curious. What are the most long-lasting legends of the Internet -- real specimens such as Time Cube rather than quick jokes, one-liners, virals or urban legends. G*atse would barely pass because it's so prevalent, but "All Your B*se" wouldn't make it.

I need a question to ask Will Smith via Q Magazine. It would get me £25 and fulfil a long held ambition to see my name in the magazine. You can ask whatever you want. Why you would give me the question and not go the extra step of submitting it yourself I don't know.

OK, so a friend wants to contact a celebrity's publicist / representation. He wants to send some photos taken of him with the celebrity that he promised to send when he got them developed. How can somebody find out who represents a celeb? He'd probably be willing to call around, if he just knew what kinds of people to call...do you just ring up the Walter Morris Agency and ask who represents so-and-so?

So one of my very good friends was on television last night (he did a bit on the Graham Norton Effect) and I was wondering...is that neat? I myself was on TV half my life ago, on the Dr. Fad show, and I thought it was pretty cool at the time (as a kid). But, obviously, it was a much different situation...I mean, have any of you been on television, or know others who are in tv and movies? How famous are we?

I know I saw a feature in a recent magazine, which I thought was Entertainment Weekly, but now I can't find it again. It was a full page of photos of regular people from around the nation, and they had asked each person to name the movie they most wanted to see that never came to their town -- "Capturing the Friedmans" was named, among others. Has anyone seen this feature, and if so, can you tell me which magazine it was in? We get a LOT of magazines, so if not EW it could have been in Esquire, People, Vanity Fair, etc. Any help will be much appreciated!
