Does OSX (10.4.8) keep a record of the CDs I burn? I recently applied to a competition by sending a CD of three jpegs. I know which date I burned the CD, but I can't remember which jpegs I applied with. Is there a record of this information anywhere on my computer?

I know they are throw away items these days, but I have a pretty new CDRW drive that just ejects the CD as soon as it closes....is there a way to repair this or should I just order a new one?

SoundsLikeSomethingMomWouldAskMe: When I try to play mp3s, QuickTime, or other audio files, it sounds like they've gone through a cheese grater. I can play CDs only on the computer's CD player - not through QuickTime or Music Match. This started around the time that two other things happened - upgrade from Win98 to 2000, and a new fan installed. Anybody know what's wrong?

A friend of mine has a really fucked up computer that was invaded by spyware and viruses via Kazaa and other trojan horse programs. The only way to fix it at this point is to nuke the entire hard drive and re-install everything. [more inside]

I need some kind of remedial primer for transfering music off my cds and onto my computer, then off my computer and onto cds. Every music cd I burn is full of pops and weird scratch artifacts.
