CBT Workbook Reccomendations?

What is the best Cognitive Behavioral Therapy workbook (for depression) currently out there? I just did a search on Amazon and came back with an overwhelming number of results, and I trust MeFites more than I trust Amazon reviewers. Any and all suggestions welcome. I'm a complete newb when it comes to CBT.

End in sight for PPD?

New mom to an 11 week old (who was 6 weeks premature). Postpartum depression still spiraling downward. I spent the last 5 weeks convinced the PPD was caused by a lack of support and put a lot of energy into setting up that support network, but it hasn't helped. How long did it take, and what did it take, before you started recovering from your postpartum depression? [more inside]

Am I paying too much for therapy?

I found a CBT doctor here in NYC, Dr. Fader, and he charges $300 per session with no sliding scale. My insurance, United Healthcare, covers 70% after I hit my $500 deductible. So after hitting that I would be paying $90 out of pocket. Is this a typical amount to pay w/insurance? I'm asking because I can always look around, but this doctor is supposed to be very good and if it's a typical price I might as well stay with him. Thoughts?

I would prefer not to? Wow, not a huge Melville crowd, I guess

A person actively avoids doing what he knows will make him happy. He just doesn't want to do it. Psychologically, what's going on here? And more importantly, perhaps, why should he do what he doesn't want to do? What arguments, appealing to either his reason or his emotions, might he consider? [more inside]

Seeking good CBT therapist in/near Boston

Hi All, I'm looking for a CBT (cognitive behavioral) therapist in Boston. I'm interested in talking about relationships, my goals, my career, etc. I have a history of dysthymia/mild depression. My insurance is Harvard Pilgrim HMO. I'm open to other varieties of therapy around the CBT vein, dialectical behavioral therapy or whatever, as long as the person is good. If you have a suggestion of someone who doesn't take Harvard Pilgrim, or you don't know, please list them anyway. Thanks!

Is it paranoia, or does everyone secretly want to ditch me?

A few months ago, a group of people I'd been hanging out with regularly dumped me without saying anything--they just stopped including me in plans and stopped responding to me. I realized that something was up and didn't push. I've been making new friends since then, but I'm often worried that these new people (or any friends) might also secretly dislike me or be considering friend-dumping me too. What should I do?
