Three of my four cats are (mostly) raw-fed. My vet knows about this, and finds their recent blood test results unremarkable, despite the fact that some of their values are technically "out of range" or near the extreme end of what is statistically "normal". I'm not worried if my vet isn't, but where's the data on this? Does it even exist? Do I need to perhaps compare my cats' results to those of small wildcats, and if so, where's
that data?

I cannot remember where I found this YouTube video. It is a song about cats in boxes. I vaguely remember the line "cats in boxes are amazing" in it. I think at some point the cat(s) may be removed from the box, and then possibly replaced in the box. The song was sung by a girl (I think) and had a sort of indie/folk-y backing to it.

Scheduled, portion-controlled feeding is failing for my cats. One ravenous kitty versus one food-agnostic kitty equals lots of frustration for me. Can anyone share some tips for making this work?

CatFilter: My family recently inherited a bushelful of cats, including quite a few kittens who are getting to the age wherein they need to be fixed lest they start producing more (inbred, in this case) kittens with each other! There are a lot of cats, however, and minimal funding with which to fix them. Does anyone have any recommendations for the cheapest spayings/neuterings in the Northern Virginia area? Thanks!

There are many feral cats in our neighborhood, which is extra annoying because 1) they drive my dogs bonkers, 2) they leave their droppings in our yard almost daily, which are super stinky, and 3) some spread fleas. Do you have suggestions for how to get rid of them? I may get cat traps from the humane society, and someone suggested sprinkling coffee grounds. Are there any other good ways to repel cats with something that is nontoxic for dogs?

Double-cat-penis-question: About 2 weeks ago my 6-9 month old neutered male cat started humping his favorite stuffed turtle. Now he's humping everything but sometimes farting too and having, um, anal squeezing. Is there a medical issue? Should I have him double-checked for neuterage? This gets a little gross.

Cat trees: I've never owned one but have been offered one as a present for my
pretties. What should I keep in mind? Do you have any recommendations? I'm thinking about
this one. I would attach "cat stairs" to the walls but I'm not allowed, so a cat tree it is. I don't want to end up buying a big tree that they're able to knock over in five minutes or is covered with nonsense they'll never touch. My cats are big climbers, they like cozy sleeping spots but height is a priority for the cat tree. Maybe I'm overthinking this?

Hello, Ask MeFi. My partner and I are struggling with a really hard decision and decided this morning to turn to you for perspective and advice. Our cat is very sick, and we thought we had clearly decided to have her put to sleep on Friday, but this morning we are doubting our decision and need to hear from others what this looks like from the outside.

We adopted two 6 month old kitten brothers from the Humane Society three weeks ago. In that time, we've treated them for colds and diarrhea (worms), which involved pills, powders and liquid given to them via syringe. Now we're treating them for some sort of skin problem that the vet had noticed symptoms of when we first took them in two weeks ago.
