Cat Filter: Bringing things to bed with her

I have a beautiful kitten who is roughly one year old. For the past few weeks she's been bringing things to my bed in the middle of the night. I'm at a loss as to why. [more inside]

It's yo' cat / It's yo' problem!

CatLivingFilter: One of my roommate's two cats has become very attached to me, probably because my roommate (by his own admission) inherited the cat from an ex relationship and never really liked it that much. That's cool--I like cats, and cats like me. What I don't like is that the cat has become so attached that it will yell inconsolably outside my door, scratch at my door, and sometimes even bash into my door in despair of not being in my room. This has become a major sleep disrupting problem for me. What can I reasonably expect my roommate to do to respond to this situation? [more inside]

How do cats choose where to take their naps?

My cats both seem to choose different places to sleep on different days. I can't really figure out how/why the choose where they do. One day in the closet with a window, the other on the bed when the blinds are open, sometimes on the couch near the window, sometimes on the couch as far as possible from the windows, sometimes on the living room couch, sometimes on the family room couch, and then somedays in the no-window basement where it is completely dark. Do you know what affects the pattern? Except maybe light/warmth?

Why won't my cat let me sleep?

My cats are nocturnal! Which was never a problem until, a few weeks ago, one of them started getting really irritating at night. She will scratch a piece of furniture or wall, making that wonderful knife-sharpening sound, until she sees that my wife or I are awake (usually this involves us yelling or throwing something, but I've noticed that even rolling over or lifting a head to look, will make her stop). This happens 6 or 7 times a night. The other one is usually fine but now they get in fights every night. Nothing in particular has changed in our, or presumably their, lives. They seem healthy and otherwise happy. What gives? [more inside]

Annoying cat is annoying

So we have a cat. He came with the house, and probably not the cat we would have picked for ourselves, but now he's ours and we love him. However he's recently added a new behavioral problem to a list of behavioral problems that isn't as short as all that: From 3 in the morning onwards he wanders the house and meows constantly. How to prevent our cat from yowling in the middle of the night.

Kitty downers? One of our cats is an older ragdoll. He's generally very sweet and lives to snuggle. About a year ago, however, he started up with night crying - around 3 in the morning he wakes up and will. not. shut. the. &*@#. up. He has access to food, water, clean litter; the vet says there's nothing physically wrong with him. The cat's been sleeping in the basement so that we can sleep. He's not happy with this and yowls disconsolately most of the night, so loudly that we can hear it two floors away. I'd really like to get him back to normal. Any ideas? Experience with kitty sleeping pills?
