How do I cat-proof a bookshelf and desk? My cats like to climb on my bookshelf and desk and knock things off of them, sometimes for fun and sometimes to get my attention. I would like them to stop doing this.

You have a friend with two well-behaved adult cats. He does not want the two cats any more. You want to give them to the Best Home Humanly Possible (not a rescue organization, ideally) and so far can't find any friends or family who can take them in. You posted your Craigslist ad with the adorable picture of them grooming each other, and now what?

Does my cat have a chronic respiratory infection, or is it possible she just naturally has poor breathing passages? Ever since my partner and I adopted her and her sister in August she has had periodic coughing and hacking fits that have been relatively unaffected by three separate rounds of antibiotics. Now I wonder if maybe she just has the equivalent of a deviated septum, or whether it's time for hospitalization.

My adopted cat is freaked out about her new home, and getting more freaked out with each passing day. Now I'm afraid she's so freaked out she's not even emerging to eat or drink. What do I do?
