Our cat is defecating RIGHT OUTSIDE of his litterbox. How to stop?

Our lovely Russian blue has always had diarrhea, but is usually pretty good with going to the potty in the right spot. Now, however, he has started pooping right next to the litter box, onto the carpet. I sleep with him, and don't want to have to lock him up at night so would like to find a way to nip this issue in the bud. Help? [more inside]

Help me medicate my cat without trauma

My aging kitty (as seen here) now gets multiple medications daily, most of which I can sprinkle over a bit of tuna slurry, and she's happy to eat. But she has an occasional pill that ruins tuna for her, and it has also ruined pill pockets for her, so now I'm at a loss for how to give it to her without the traditional approach of poking it down her throat. This is horrible for both of us. Please share any tips you might have for other tricks to make this easy and painless!

My cat is an asshole

My 15 year old cat is becoming more of a jerkface. He's always been a bigmouth, but within the past year he's ramped up the yowling. I took him in awhile back and the vet said there's nothing physically wrong with him, he's basically just an asshole (the vet was a bit more tactful). Now he's started attacking my other cat - they've been together for 10 years. What gives? What can I do? [more inside]

Acclimating Kitten in Bedroom

I'm bringing a kitten home next week. I was told he should be separated and placed in a quiet area away from my dog, then slowly introduced. My apartment is VERY SMALL. My bedroom is carpeted and I don't want him peeing there, or on my bed while he's in there with a litter box. He may learn that's where the box will ALWAYS be and it's ok to go there. If I lock him in the bathroom, it has no window and he'll be in tight quarters for AT LEAST a week to acclimate to smells/sounds. However, THAT IS the location I prefer one of his litter boxes to be. Also, how could I teach him he'll have his own bed to sleep on at bedtime and it WON'T be mine.

Stray cat --> Outdoor pet?

My Bengal kitten is a special kind of crazy and I need answers

Our 10 month old bengal kitten plays *hard*. When we're playing, or when she wants to play more than we do, she puffs up her tail and arches her back and does that weird crab-shuffle and then laps around the house. I'm concerned because in my head arched back and puffed tail equals stressed out cat, but with her it seems to be associated with intense play. This behavior is also never associated with attacking us or being aggressive. I'm aware that bengals are, uh, crazy, but is this within the bounds of how bengals are? This is daily behavior. Frito Feet and Stanky Pet Pits: A Cornish Rex Conundrum

I need advice from short hair cat breeds. I have a lovely Cornish Rex, Louise, who is white (and pink where her skin shows through). She gets dirty quickly, and I don't want to bathe her too frequently, because a) she doesn't like it, b) even though I towel her off, her little short curls and damp fur make her miserable and cold, and she's afraid of the hairdryer, and c) I don't want to dry her skin out, because it's so exposed... see inside for more fun Cornish Rex Facts!!!
