The used car that I had purchased on Thursday was broken into on Friday before I had registered it. They busted a window, got blood everywhere, stole the cd player, sirius radio, and then tried to hotwire it I guess because there are wires sticking out. I tried to start the car when I found it but the key got stuck in the ignition. It's an 88 Jeep Cherokee. Here's my problem... [more inside]

I need to renew my car tabs, but my ex-girlfriend stacked up $800+ in parking tickets on my car, unbeknownst to me. There's no WAY she's going to pay for them (she's got her own problems that lead to no money, and I really don't wanna talk to her anyhow). What to do? [more inside]
I want a bluetooth speaker phone for my new Blackberry 7290 for use in my car. I found lots of articles talking about new cars that have bluetooth, but can anyone recommend a device that I can purchase for the car I have already? I need a new stereo, so one that requires me to replace my radio isn't a deal breaker. [more inside]
I am interested in the physics of motor vehicle accidents. The most basic question I have is which of Newton's laws, if I am understanding them properly, is at work in the following situations: 1) You're driving in a straight line and suddenly you jerk the wheel in one direction. This makes the car start to roll. 2) You're driving and you fall asleep at the wheel, so the car drifts to one side. You wake up suddenly, jerk the wheel in the opposite direction, and the car starts to roll. 3) You round a sharp curve too fast and roll the car. If anybody would like to give detailed explanations of the physics of each of these situations, hopefully without calculus, that would be great, as well. thanks!

I have a car that has been sitting parked for 6 months in Nashville, TN and the tags have expired. I will be going this week to drive it to my new place in San Jose, CA. I know that I will have to pay a few hundred bucks to register it in CA when I get there and would like to avoid paying to register for a full year in TN when I only need valid pates for a few days. I've done some searching on the TN website and can't find any information if there is any sort of temporary tag (even 10 days is more than enough) that would get me through. Does anyone have experience with this? Any ideas on what my options might be?

Yesterday I caused a car accident. I'm a college sophomore and I've never been in a car wreck before. I have liability insurance so it only covers the other persons car and its going to cost $1250 to fix my car which I have no choice but to fix. I also have to appear in court next month to deal with the ticket or whatever. The whole incident has just weighed on my heavily. I can't get any work done, I am having trouble sleeping. I just feel awful. Does anyone have any advice on dealing with this kind of situation?

Best Sports Coupe or Sedan in the $20-50K range that can accommodate a tall driver? I'm giving my SUV to my son and want something new and fun to drive. My favorite car ever was a 1988 Porsche 944 -- great handling, adequate power and surprisingly enough room for me at 6'3". Many current cars (Boxsters, 3 series BWM) just are not comfortable. I've read good reviews about the Mazda RX-8 and Acuras will probably test drive this weekend. Any other recommendations?

My fiancee's car is a 2003 Altima that I would like to put some snow tires on. I have used 4 tires on my vehicle for work (paid for by the company) and am wondering how much difference there is between using 2 or 4. I am not cheaping out on her of course, but we both have concerns over the cost/benefit ratio as we are just starting out. I am very familiar with using 2 new tires on front wheel drive cars with less tread on the back with all seasons and summer tires, and experienced no difficulty in seasonal months. If you have used 2 tires snow tires only, what was your experience? More inside... [more inside]
