What part of the world has the most junkyards?

I'm looking for some 500 square mile area of the world with giant piles of machine parts. Junkyards would be good. But any piles of former machinery would still work. And it doesn't have to be cars. Planes. Boats. Anything scrap worthy but still semi-useful would work. SO where should I be looking?

1975. A great year for cinema. And wine. And pickup lines. Cars? I'm pretty sure no.

When Traffic Court gets ugly

So I went to traffic court last week in the city of Los Angeles. I spent a week preparing for it. And I lost. And it got ugly. Largely because of a Judge Pro-Tem who went to town on me because I tried to fight my case. It was so ugly I’m springing the $86.50 it costs these days to get a copy of the tape. So my question is, now that I've lost, what are my options? (much much more inside) [more inside]

Can airplanes really check your speed when you're driving?

You know those "Speed Checked By Aircraft" highway signs? I always use those as guide to knowing when there are no cops around whatsoever. But it got me to thinking: if there were in fact such aircraft COULD they check our car speed with radar? Is such a thing even possible?

When it's time to cheat on your mechanic

My 1970 Dodge Dart swinger has begun making some odd noises and my current, very-good mechanic, can't figure it out. But he says it's nothing. For the first time, I don't think he's right. So I need to cheat on him with a new mechanic. A Dodge Dart specialist. Does anyone have any supremely talented classic mopar men in the Los Angeles area they can recommend?

So I got scratches on my car from going to the cheap car wash. Is there some sort of miracle cream to apply to take care of them?

What's the name of that stuff that you rub into your paint job that gets rid of the little scratches inflicted from car wash rags?
