Possible to warp/bend screw in two post car lift?

This is what I'm talking about, but MUCH older. It uses a motor to belt drive a 10ft vertical screw, which in turn chain drives another screw on the other side. A ~2600lb car was left on a lift like this , raised to the top for the better part of a year. Can this damage the lift-screw? [more inside]

Which 5-door hot hatchback did/would you buy?

I've never had a fun-to-drive car, and after selling my gas-guzzling FJ Cruiser and driving an equally thirsty F150 for a while (a free loaner), I've decided to buy a fast, fun, but also fairly practical car in the $30,000 range. Anyone done the same? [more inside]

$%&#ing neighbours, parking spot edition

My wife and I are renting an apartment with two parking spots. It is adjacent to another apartment with two spots, but the people there always cram three cars (one of which is always covered with a tarp) into the space, which means that typically one of the cars is halfway onto our spot, which always means the cars are packed tightly together. Replaced spark plugs in 07 Dodge Grand Caravan and now brakes don't work

Good Cincinnati area Mazda mechanics?

What is this bolt that fell off the bottom of my '99 Honda Civic?

Driving home from work, my '99 Honda Civic suddenly got louder and, in addition, stared making a tinkling noise. I parked to look underneath and saw that there was a bolt dangling from the middle of the car. It's about 9 inches long, still has a nut on it, and was attached at the other end to a rubbery, possibly oval-shaped gasket sort of thing. finding DVD of ESPN2 broadcasts/coverage of old (1997) events?

I'm trying to get all the 1997 Formula Star Mazda's races which were covered on ESPN2. My brother had started a race team that year. While his driver, Tony Buffomante, was winning pretty much every race, he (my brother) suffered a traumatic brain injury and had a many months recovery. Someone made him a DVD of all the coverage which he has now lost. I understand (and he does) that it was his fault for not backing it up apparently, but he's looking for help getting a new one even if ESPN or whomever charges a lot for it.
