I need some armchair legal advice about a messy situation involving a car I sold 2 years ago coming back to haunt me. I never got a bill of sale when I sold the car- now it's in police custody, and I'm liable for fees and possibly implicated in whatever this car's been into.

My parents bought me a car, but registered it under my mother's name with the understanding that it would be, for all intents and purposes, mine once I could pay back the purchase price. This happened, but we can't transfer the title to my name without voiding the warranty. Is there any way to make this
de facto ownership any more
de jure without re-registering it?

So, my son bought a car off Ebay. He's in Colorado, the car is in Maryland. He will be flying to Maryland to pick up the car on Spring Break and driving back-but there's one little problem...

Do we have any legal recourse if a car dealership lied to us about our car having been totaled before we bought it?

A friend’s car sat parked legally* on the street outside our house for approx 6 months. It was towed last week for being “parked on the grass” and for not “possessing a valid parking permit.” While there may have been other valid reasons for it to get towed, it was certainly not parked on the grass, nor did it need a permit to be parked there. The towing company denies wrongdoing (obviously) is doing everything possible to avoid responsibility. [MI]

I had a windshield installed by a company that comes to your home to do the job. The fellow who showed up to do it asked me if he could move the car from the street (plenty room) to my driveway, which I agreed to.
Next day, my neighbor suggested that they do this in case the fellow gets injured, and since it happened on my driveway, I'd have to pay his medical bills. Anyone knows anything about this possible set up?
