I'm starting work soon, any ideas on how I could best spend my time before it starts in one month? This is my second fulltime job since I finished my degree last year, and I'd be far away from home this time.
Just wondered if there are worthwhile things to do in this not so short, but not so long period of time.

I'm seeking any and all advice regarding my career search. I will be relocating to Los Angeles from the Midwest in July. I lived in Los Angeles prior to attending law school and have always wanted to move back. I graduated from law school this month and will be taking the California bar exam. Unfortunately, the Career Services department at my school offers me very little assistance.

CFA worth it for a role in Real Estate Investment? I was wondering if the CFA will be useful to me if I want to work in Real Estate Investment – starting probably with a Commercial Brokerage firm in their asset management department, which would involve buying and holding investment properties for their income as well as possible capital appreciation. Ultimately perhaps work for some kind of REIT.

A year and a half ago, stuck in what I thought was a dead-end job, I decided to do a degree in computing/IT with the Open University. Six months later, I landed a job as a Test Analyst in the IT department of the company I was working for. I now have an actual career. I've been continuing with the degree, but I'm finding bits of it very dull and it's difficult to get motivated. Should I keep going?

I just started a job at a finance leadership program at a Fortune 500 company. The program is extremely well known is 2 years long and is on the path to become an executive at this pretisgious company. I joined right after school ended (4 days) and never really had a strong inclination to go into finance. I knew that from the begining, while I know I do not want to stay there long-term as I am likley leaving after 2 years, I'd love to hear thoughts on whether I should leave the company now.

Hello everyone! Once again I am turning to AskMeFi for advice. The gist of it is: I'm a recent UK-based graduate in a non-finance discipline, and decided to make the move into finance and accounting. So far I have completed the three foundation modules of ACCA International, and am about to start studying for the upcoming F4 exam... and I've started to look for relevant jobs. Of course, the problem is experience (lack of). I've never had a direct finance job, and most positions (including entry-level ones [don't get me wrong; I know it's a long road and I'm barely at the start!]) seem to demand at least 2 years' experience. So, what to do?

How do I begin to choose a new career / field completely different from what I do now?
I'd like to do is go back to university and get a masters in a new field. I've thought of several options (i.e. materials engineer, public policy, law) but I don't know how to choose and by looking around the internet they all seem like they could be interesting but how do i know i'd like it for the next 30yrs?? On top of spending at least 2yrs of my life back in school studying, I don't want to end up hating it like my current career.
