My cat is sick. I have next to no money. Is there a really-truly-worth it pet insurance company you recommend? Or is there a place I can apply for financial assistance? [more inside]

I moved back to Boston a bit over a year ago. previously I was living in the suburbs in a southeastern city and had a really great pet sitter: she would come to the house to care for my pets daily when I travelled.
I have had trouble finding a similar person here. I have had a few short work-related trips, for which my building doorman sufficed. When I took a longer personal vacation, I used yelp to find a pet sitter. The person I chose was recommended but REALLY did not measure up. (ie did not show up at all:please memail me if you want who never to use).
I am looking for someone who will come to my home daily to feed/water my 2 cats. I live in Fort Point (so parking can be a challenge).
Anyone have suggestions? (note; I prefer to leave my cats in situ as vs boarding them)

How do I care for a kitten who may have been taken too early from his mother? I've never cared for anything younger than a year old, and now I have an 8 week old kitten. [more inside]

My cat keeps returning his breakfast/lunch/dinner/fourthmeal to sender on a quite regular basis. He's now 8--based on the birthdate on the intake form filled out by the person who gave him to the shelter--and we've had him for over 6 years. Is it normal for him to do this? [more inside]

Nonagenarian-and-kitty-filter: Would a deaf kitty be an OK match for an older lady with possibly-limited mobility? I can imagine problems, but am not sure how serious they are. [more inside]

I've decided to adopt a kitten for my fiance as a Christmas gift this year. She's an absolute animal lover, and she has been wanting to get a kitten for a while now (her cat of 15 years died this summer). I'm going to arrange the adoption and then have her pick the kitten out the day after the holiday. However, I'm going to arrange an assortment of kitten necessities for her to open on Christmas morning. Never having had a kitten, what do I need?
