Some huge transitions in my life recently have resulted in a slightly deflated mood and somewhat intense anxiety. I want to nip this in the bud before it turns into something more sinister. As well as turning up the heat on my exercise routine, I've started taking 50mg of 5-HTP with 5mg of Vitamin B6 daily after a friend told me how much it had helped him. Incidentally, I feel great since taking it. However, I'm now reading horror stories about cardio fibrosis and heart valve deformities. Can anyone tell me a little more about this? How credible is the risk at such a low dosage? I kind of like my heart and wouldn't want to, like, drop down dead any time soon.

I am the proud new owner of an ICD (implanted cardiac defibrillator). Google turns up a rather grim future for me devoid of major electrical devices. However, does anyone else here have one or know someone who does, and what has been your or their real-life experiences regarding EMI fields?

I ask because my current job is maintaining industrial robots, and I doubt the doc is going to allow me to return to work in any capacity when I see him again for the follow-up. BTW, I have had the thing for less than 48 hours and that sucker has already fired once. I don't think it was its full rating of 30 joules, but damn!!!
