Today, my bank's fraud detection department gave me a call - apparently, somebody had attempted to use my debit card for a purchase in Colombia. I live in London, UK. This is an annoyance, but it's particularly worrying because something similar happened less than two months ago - they called me up and said that although my card hadn't been used, they had information that it may be compromised. The card that was used in Colombia today was the replacement, which I've had for only a few weeks.
My money is safe and my card has been cancelled (again). But my main concern is HOW this has happened - keylogger? Dubious, but legit-seeming site? Compromised wifi? And how do I keep myself safe in future? [more inside]

We're looking to obtain the best credit card possible for a 5 person band with minimal expenses and income. We're an LLC incorporated in NYC. Band expenses typically include food, gas, merch supplies (shirts, blank CDs etc) and the occasional cash withdrawals, but the big anticipated purchase is a van (used -- no more than $5k). Suggestions for checking accounts also welcome...

Dominion (the card game) doesn't seem like it's ever likely to come out for iOS. What are some alternative iPhone games that riff on Dominion style play that are can be played thru game center and are turn based (able to take hours to make a turn.) Thanks!

Is there a business credit card that can alert you in real-time (or close to it) when your employees' cards are used?
I currently use Chase Ink and it disappoints in this regard. I can setup real-time alerts, but they only work for the primary card, not all employee cards. I was a little incredulous of this at first, but my Chase rep confirmed it is so.
Any business cards that can do this? (ideally with cash back, esp. for gas; ideally visa).

There is an obscure (to the US) card game I love: Eighty Points
, and its simpler brother Forty Points
. It's a partnered trick taking game, and feels a little like Bridge
. However, it requires four (or six, though I've never played that variant) people to spend many hours together, kind of like a DnD campaign. How do I recruit people for this game? [more inside]

There's a Boston-area shoegaze festival called Deep Heaven Now happening this weekend, and I'll be in Boston. The ads say 21+, and I'm not 21. How likely is it that I'll actually be carded? Is there a "draw Xes on your hands" option? (Also, if I can't get in, do you have any other recommendations for good live music on Friday night?)

I need a card I can charge with money, online, for someone else's use in grocery stores, department stores, gas stations, etc. They don't need to be able to get cash with it. It shouldn't be possible for them to take out more money than I put in. This will be an ongoing thing, so I'd like to minimize fees. Has anyone had any experience with something like this that they liked?

FOr that matter, free miles offers?

Seeking recommendations for light to medium difficulty card games from one to 8 players. No boards, no game pieces, just cards. Yes, I know there is Boardgamegeek, but I would like current recommendations from the mefites. And I thank you.
P.S. I like No Thanks, Coloretto, The Great Dalmuti, Rat-a-tat-cat, Rook. I don't like Bohnanza, Apples to Apples, Skip Bo, Hearts, Blink, Rage.

When trying to read a Sandisk 16Gb Class 2 Micro SD card (on my Win7 PC through a USB reader) it will show up briefly but as soon as I try to copy any files the drive itself will disappear, meaning I can't save any of the data (or pics) from it, so I'm looking for a way to keep the drive visible to my PC so I can save the data. (The card comes from my Android HTC Desire HD which randomly dismounted itself this morning and now reports itself as 'damaged' in the phone). Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance!
