I want what I want. It's sooo hard to find information on cars that fit the criteria I want. I joined Consumer Reports online, looked at Cars.com (it ends in 2013), Edmonds and general Google searches and can't find any car research tool to just plug in the features I want.
I'm looking for a small to mid-size car/SUV/whatever, AWD or 4WD, 4 cyl turbo or 6-8 cyl, plenty of front leg room with decent leg room in the rear, heated/power front seats (heated mirrors a plus), iPhone/Bluetooth media streaming, audio on the steering wheel, mpg 27 or better, preferably under $30,000 but I can be flexible on that.
My last new car was a Subaru Baja and I loved it but had to give it up when I was laid off. I'm now driving a '96 Mercury Cougar which has power galore but looks boring. I like unique looks (I was looking at the Nissan Juke, but no heated/power seats or audio on the steering wheel and a bit tight in the rear leg room dept. Does this unicorn exist?

I'm in the market for a used car, and I've found one that looks great (on paper). I have not seen it in person yet. It's being sold by a new/used car dealership that seems to have positive reviews (or at least, no negative reviews that I can find). The only thing is, the asking price appears to be too low, based on what I'm finding online, by something like $2,000-3,000. Carfax report comes up clean except for a fender bender, and the mileage is kind of high (190k for a 2005 car). I plan to check it out in person and ask questions about it, but (1) what should I be looking for -- especially non-obvious things? and (2) what are some good questions to ask about it? Also: if the car is in decent condition, should I try to haggle, or just take the car at the listed price?

My husband and I plan to replace our car in the next year, probably sooner rather than later. We currently drive a 2006 VW Beetle, which is a giant dome and is great for my husband, who is 6'4" with a lot of height in the torso. The new Beetles are less dome-like and still under consideration, but are there other current-model small cars that would be good for my husband's height? Bonus complication: we occasionally take my mother (77, lives in a retirement home) out; I will have to get in and out of the back.

We're interested in areas with lots of dealerships in close proximity, so we can see the models we're curious about without having to head all over town. [more inside]

This car is totally pimped out, has really low mileage, and a really low sticker price. It's also been in a severe accident. Should I buy it? [more inside]

My parents (who are in Savannah, GA) are looking to buy a new car, but recently moved away from where they knew who to go to and who to trust. Now they are looking at those websites that offer to contact dealers around and get you the best deal before you go looking on the car you want, with no haggling. [more inside]

After putting 176,000+ miles on my 2005 Ford Taurus, I'm in the market for a new car. My 2 previous cars have been a Mercury Sable and another Ford Taurus. I think I'm done with sedans for the time being and want something different.

Hi All, We are in need of a car. New or used, does not matter. Our current car is near death and we cannot postpone. Friends have told me that with the current economic recession, this is a great time to buy a new or used car. If this is indeed the case and it is a good time to take advantage of the poor economy, then in what ways do I maximize my savings? [more inside]

A relative of mine just bought a new car in Massachusetts and was blatantly robbed with bogus dealership fees. Example: $500 "registration fee" and of course the deluxe "extended warranty". Unfortunately the deal is done and it appears each bogus fee is perfectly legal in Mass and there's no "cooling off period". Is there is any recourse to persuade the dealer to reconsider these fees?

I'm moving from New England to Southern Florida and I need to buy a car. Should I bother to look here, or just wait until after I move? I'm more likely to purchase outright than to lease, so mileage restrictions aren't much of an issue.

I drive a truck which is great for long distance, car camping and off-roading and hauling stuff but I estimate about %70 of the miles are done within a 30-mile range of home. As I recently switched home electricity to a Wind Powered utility provider (delivered via Pepco the incumbant local utility) I could now theoretically charge an electric car and be %100 pollution free. But I know nothing about electric cars reliability, maintaince, cold weather, etc... Does anyone have any experience or suggestions to offer? Ideally I'd like a car that can go 50+ mph for 40+ miles and cost under $10,000.
