What do I need to do to get in the clear with my car title?

This september I was given a car by a friend of mine who was moving out of state (the car and I are in Ohio). We both signed the title and thought we had done everything right, but we did not realize that we had to sign the document in front of a notary or have it notarized to complete the transfer. Is it true that it is good for a car to fill it up with higher grade gas once in a while?

Is it true that it is good for a car to fill it up with higher grade gas once in a while? I usually fill up at Shell, and there is 87, 89 and 91 kinds of gas, with 87 being the cheapeast and 91 being the most expensive. I usually get 87. However, I heard that if you own a car and want it to last longer, it is beneficial to fill it up with the most expensive gas, to "clean the engine". Is that true? If so, what is the explanation behind it? I drive a 2002 Kia Rio, if that makes any difference.

Searching for Story; Need to Get "Unstuck"

Short Story Filter: I'm trying to track down a wonderful short story I read maybe 15 years ago. It focuses on a couple struggling with a dysfunctional marital and/or sexual relationship. The story is set somewhere in a snowy/icy climate, and the central conceit of the story is that the husband needs to free their car which is stuck in the snow. As the story unfolds, the author describes the back-and-forth rocking of the car as he slams it from "drive" into "reverse" and back again, and it becomes clear that the movement of the car is a powerful sexual metaphor. Finally the car rolls free and the dramatic release seems to provide hope for the relationship. Does this sound familiar to anybody? I thought the title of the story was "Unstuck," but Googling has led me nowhere.

Yet another Used Car question

I’ve found a nice used 2004 Honda Accord EX that I’m interested in which is about 30 miles away in another town. The dealership is only asking $14,995 and both KBB and NADA both list the worth over $18,000. I did a carfax report for the car and it shows a one owner history with no accidents or anything. I also contacted the local Honda dealership (not the selling dealer) and asked them to pull warranty work done to this car via VIN. The only thing that was done was an Automatic transmission that was recalled and replaced under warranty. What am I missing? Why are they selling this car for what seems to me, much less than the worth of it? I have always assumed that car dealerships are there to screw you however they can. Any help would be appreciated

Buy clear floor mats for new car?

I just bought a brand new car and wondered about buying clear floor mats. The car comes with floor mats that are rubber on one side and carpet on the other side and right now I have them turned to the rubber side because we have wet weather. I live in a drier area of the Pacific Northwest but do not want my carpet dirty when we do get snow and slush. If I buy clear mats, are the ones at the local car supply store good enough? some people cut their own from the clear runners you find at office supply stores but that sounds like a pain. Any advice? Thank you!

Commuting with a friend's car, and my wallet.

I'm going to be temporarily using a friend's car to commute. The concern is that my friend only has minimum liability insurance. I think I'm a safe driver and all, but I'd prefer for any potential accidents or damage to involve only myself, my wallet, and my insurance - and for my friend to get off scot-free. What do I need to do? This is in CA. [more inside]
