Are Capital One "card upgrades" for real? [more inside]

When the Citibank e-savings account started (I think about 18 months ago) the interest rate was 3.5%, so I moved all my spare cash there; but now it's 1.5%. Capital One & HSBC are currently offering 3.5% e-savings accounts - is this the same deal? Are these only introductory rates which I should expect to fall dramatically in due course? [more inside]

Does Capital One REALLY have airline miles with no blackout dates? With seats available? I think it's too good to be true, and possibly they just have very few or no seats on those flights. My experience with Northwest is that often you have to use double the miles to get flights in non-blackout times. But it would be nice to get miles on other airlines. anyone have experience on this? I had a $200 limit Capital One Secured Credit Card that I was unable to pay - and now its showing up on my credit report with a balance of over 900 as a Charge Off, how do I deal with it and work to remove it? [more inside]
